“I assumed they were, ‘My dad was a vicar’ Tory, not ‘concerned about white birthrates’ Tory”

^^^ Yeah, this is about it. Obviously a foul and despicable band from the off, but I had no idea a) how fucking insanely posh they are, and b) how fucking insanely fash they are.

Oh sorry, that just got lost in the shuffle. Sorry I missed it and please ignore my comment.

It's strange, I remember a few years ago they released a single with Baaba Maal that I actually...well, it wasn't as terrible as I thought it was going to be, let's just say that. (I only heard it because it played constantly on the radio in the small geographic region where i was living).

Wouldn’t the prominent use of a banjo drive their new alt-right fans insane?

Joe Bombin (milo z), Monday, 8 March 2021 20:34 (three years ago) link

”I looked forward to having a conversation with him, but only because I wanted to have a conversation with as many people as possible,” he says, although he can’t remember what they actually talked about.

aka the defense du jour of every disingenious alt-right/new fash asshole

and if anything damnable would come out I’m sure it was all “obviously” said in jest.

Perhaps, yet Trump fans love "YMCA," there is no logic in this world

7th March 2020 continues to not have been in August 2020 ftr

also I'm not sure anyone was really looking to the drummer from the Happy Mondays for coherent advice on anything

Rock n Roll was created to avenge the Jazz Musicians technique...i good thing for basic musicians like myself. BUT the grand irony is that those old jazz musicians were far more Rcok n Roll than the rockers..far far more..

The most successful covidiot 'documentary' in France peddles exactly this bunk, so it's more common than you'd think, alas.

I've told the story on here before about a friend of a friend of mine who believes this exact thing, that it's all about de-population.

In fact, even the Daily Star is writing about it.

any musician who is speaking out against the COVID vaccine or calling COVID a hoax should only be allowed to record David Hasslehoff covers going forward

"evan parker" "david hasselhoff"

and the first result I got was 'Photos taken of famous people together that you would never have expected to be together but make you happy all the same.' Too bad they're not actually in the same pic.

Brian Damage. There must have been a punk musician called that somewhere some time.

Woke For Luck (Tom D.), Tuesday, 16 March 2021 16:40 (three years ago) link

t it's all about de-population.

it hasn't been very efficient, has it? while the death toll has been truly awful, it is only 0.003% (approx) of the global population.

I'd actually like to hear that album — Alexander Hawkins on piano, John Edwards on bass, Paul Lytton on drums — and obviously the music (which was recorded in 2019) won't reflect any of Parker's views, even though the track titles are apparently all taken from Daniel Defoe's Journal of the Plague Year. But nope.

More info here.

Not Big Boi :(

It wasn't straight covidiocy, I think it was more pseudo-Trumpist "stop the steal" disinfo or something but the one that hit me in the gut was Nightmares on Wax.

It was in a tweet sometime mid-last year -- I can't find a link now, I assume it's been deleted.
