My friend just recommended this podcast episode to me, Reply All #158, The Case of the Missing Hit. Have only listened to a bit of it, but it’s seems to be headed towards some Magma Core of the ILX Universe, if I may.

okay so i got sucked in in spite of the horrible horrible voice of the woman who reads the ads and the strained jocularity of the ersatz "this american life" style talking / convo

The whole thing had so many different aspects that appealed to me as the ywended their way around the labyrinth into the wormhole, I can't pick out only one filament.

Yeah, that podcast was fascinating.

FYI, it got some discussion in the Obscure 90s Songs thread a few months back:

actually just to be a horrible contrarian i'm going to put my tin foil hat on and insist that those podcast people actually knew of evan olson's tune all this time and just concocted this whole saga/detective story knowing it would be excellent podcast material. the rolling stone folks suspecting a viral marketing hoax were onto something!!

Hi Everybody,
I'm please to announce Universal has finally put my album, One Room, & single, So Much Better, on iTunes/Apple Music. It only took them 19 years. #SoMuchBetter https://t.co/gnKyNixKFj
