Kris Kross wore their pants backwards. What did Christopher Cross ever do?

Schammasch Cannonball (Tom Violence), Sunday, 16 February 2020 22:12 (four years ago) link

When you get caught between the moon and New York City
I know it's crazy, but it's true
If you get caught between the moon and New York City
The best that you can do
The best that you can do is jump jump

mist(oph)er christopher did "sailing" so he at least deserves a little respect on his name

I missed the bus
I've got such a long way to go
I missed the bus
To get me to the border of Mexico

Voted for Christopher Cross bc his period of pop culture saturation did not occur during my early teenage years.

With considerable charm, you still have made a choice (Sund4r), Monday, 17 February 2020 00:04 (four years ago) link

I just now read the lyrics to Ride Like the Wind and lol this has to be the wussiest outlaw anthem ever.

The cops probably let him escape cos they were laughing so hard.

'Sailing' is the smoothest song ever sung, so that.

Christopher Cross is performing at a suburban venue somewhere near Chicago (can't remember where) and I winced at the thought of seeing him perform in 2020. What does that voice sound like now? I can't begin to imagine who is in the crowd.

Haven't heard much about Kriss Kross so I assume they are thriving in their civilian lives.

Unfortunately, only one half of Kriss Kross is still alive.

Christopher Cross, purely because he's a local.

First time I heard “sailing” I lold so so hard when the chorus came in. But I feel bad for making fun of him, he always seemed so authentically sad (whatever that means)

no kriss kross, no June 27th

i just looked CC up bc I was wondering where he was playing and it's a theater in the suburbs that I keep wondering about -- they have booked a few groups i would have seen if i had thought hard enough about it. BOC, The Zombies, some others I forget. i wouldn't pay to see CC but I might go for kicks? idk. he's doing his thing. good for him.

Christopher Geppert was raised in Alamo Heights, i.e. perhaps THE toniest and most "old money" neighborhood in the city. If he's genuinely morose then I'd imagine his childhood to be akin to "Mad Men"'s Sally Draper's.

Also, it's mad how there are two pop/rock musicians named Chris(topher) Cross and neither of them were actually born with that name. (The Ultravox one was born Christopher Allen.)
