An edit of an old Charles Noel track, prefer this to the original actually! Little bit of a Callisto vibe going on here

Some may remember from Evan Baggs in Turin last summer

saer, Wednesday, 29 January 2020 13:12 (four months ago) link

Good taste, bit Victorian but who isn't? (jed_), Wednesday, 29 January 2020 13:38 (four months ago) link

Bit of a roll today as the officials fell asleep early after getting stuck into the pies innit which means this snuck through too, forthcoming on Parang from Lord of Leisure

I havennt' been total't been that sold on this from Youandewan, due to the liberal lift from Pure Science's Acid Kut.... but its won me round in the end, or maybe the lift did. Salut

New Fumiya Tanaka album is 💖💖💖 - His music was also too dry and severe for my tastes, but his newer, more "palatable" releases have really hit the spot.

ed.b, Tuesday, 11 February 2020 19:19 (three months ago) link

Will check that out! I too find Fumiya a bit dry most of the time but on occasion his stuff shimmies out

Hey! I just want to recommend a live stream of a DJ set, and I hope this is the right place to do it (apologies in advance, in case there is a more appropriate place to post it). It's in support of the city's best venue for 'alternative music' (whatever that means, but I think you get the Idea!), which is of course hit hard by the Coronavirus, so it's also possible to donate!

The live stream is here:

It's by a DJ from the second biggest city in Denmark, Aarhus, and he is a part of a great local label, Regelbau - you might know the name from p4k or residentadvisor:)))

Niels Lyhne, Saturday, 28 March 2020 19:26 (two months ago) link

I know Regelbau from owning two Regelbau records, but I'm already tuned into another live stream! Its the right place tho!

saer, Saturday, 28 March 2020 19:50 (two months ago) link

looing forward to listening to your links <3

Serpentino on Yaroh, not sure what this is or where it came from, presume its French but who knows?

Sassy and creepy!

saer, Tuesday, 7 April 2020 10:33 (one month ago) link

Hey saer - what would you call the subgenre of bobbins that you're into?

DJI, Tuesday, 7 April 2020 16:02 (one month ago) link

The Vakula man is bad vibes. We could be hearing about Greggs instead of Vakula and how they are keeping their staff on during the pandemic! Greggs is also where I first heard this from Deyayu just last month

saer, Friday, 10 April 2020 07:42 (one month ago) link

really enjoying catching up with this thread this morning favourites

A2 & Stopouts
catching up on the full version of Lord of Leisure Coffee n Chups

Wake Up feat Slope114
the JASSS is monumental
loving the new Bicep
Karim Benzema adding to the excellent series saer posted in his 2019 poll noms
Seqta B-Boy Xravaganza is *excellent*
and yeah the BeautifulPlace remixes why not
and *love* the B Serpentina - La Cobra Manchuria, really intriguing and beguiling. keep thinking about it.

Thanks again for the head's up on this. Just bought it, my first online purchase of the quarantine. Side B > Side A for me! Both B1 and B2 are just perfect. I think I'm feeling a minimal mood coming on.

Andrea's Ritorno, on Ilian Tape is probably my bobbins album of the year so far, despite having a much more downtempo and footworky/breaky vibe.

octobeard, Tuesday, 14 April 2020 21:37 (one month ago) link

that Ritorno album is a lot for my brain, maybe i should give it another chance

meanwhile i'm gonna order this Earth Trax LP on Shall Not Fade

Patrick Holland (formerly Project Pablo) - Soft Recycle

Papa Triste (Thee Macallan 18 Year), Thursday, 23 April 2020 15:02 (one month ago) link

That's the third track he's released under his own name so far this year and I think I like it least of the 3 but he's been ridiculously consistent for a while now

or something, Thursday, 23 April 2020 15:35 (one month ago) link

That's some really pretty effects programming/modulation.

These epic comps are quite daunting - Hivern has one out too - I know there is going to be excellent stuff on them but where do you start, so thanks for these

boxedjoy, Thursday, 28 May 2020 19:26 (yesterday) link

The R&S one has so many highlights that are worth going back to, but it's hard to remember what they are because it's so huge. Definitely BFTT, TSVI, Yak. Lots of others turning in extremely representative tracks (Barker being Barker, DjRum being DjRum, India Jordan, etc)
