last years veteran was pretty strong, can't speak to the earlier stuff; as with many things the heavy fantano endorsement made me suspicious

"I Cannot Fucking Wait Until Morrissey Dies" is such a great song title

he rules. was booked on a show with him at the bell foundry and it was p sparsely attended and he just left without playing lol

“Ash my blunt” is a crucial pre-veteran track. saw him at rough trade last year, sold it out, crazy energy

veteran was fine, but the 2019 singles have been pretty fantastic.

album rules, maybe overlong, maybe ... overmuch but so much to get lost in and so visceral at the same time. the hardest 'headphones album'?

It's solid and I think I like it more than Veteran which is high praise from me. The production is ridiculous.

i'll give it another listen. there's a lot of exciting alt-rap coming out right now and this excites me much less than, say, clipping, but as runaway leader of the rym chart it does demand further inspection

sorry for the petulance! came back after a few days to find nobody caring about what i felt to be at least a very strong effort at making something new/interesting and just a bunch of threads on the must lethally boring shit ...

but ... upon further listens i am having a hard time avoiding the conclusion that this album is not good ... idk the raps are corny. would love to hear an instrumental effort or double down on the punk-rap vox of veteran. lots of cool moments though

the trippie redd + skinny puppy moments do point towards a world-conqueringly awesome sound, a total synthesis of rock, pop, and experimental musics of the past generation ... or something

If I weren't already a fan this probably wouldn't be the record to convert me -- it feels like a victory lap, coasting on good will, with plenty of personality/charisma but not much focus (esp. the interminable 'skits' where he's hanging out with whoever that woman is and cracking jokes about smoking weed) -- I did get a solid chuckle from "Hope you had the time of your life, cuz it's over for you when I come around"

I don't think this record is the best starting place but it's my favorite yet. So many interesting moments and twists every step of the way.Goes beyond everything he was doing on Veteran

New album is indeed expectedly great, "offline" version available to download on the bandcamp for free, "online" version drops a few tracks and adds CUTIE PIE! and BALD!, which youse all already heard anyway, so haed to bandcamp. Or BANDCAMP! it should prolly be

I hate that the Hazard Duty Pay! sample didn't get cleared and is not on the final 'online' album. It's probably the best song here.

Yeah, it's one of my favorites. But you can get it if you get the Bandcamp version.
