skronktopia (FlopsyDuck), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:11 (five years ago) link

Thanks a million/bunch KM, the last few weeks have been a blast x

lefal junglist platton (wtev), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:12 (five years ago) link

"Hybrid Moments" isn't even in my top ten Misfits songs fwiw

thanks KM, looking forward to listening to the rest of the list later! super fun.

Emperor Tonetta Ketchup (sleeve), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:13 (five years ago) link

My actual Number One! This never happens.

mike t-diva, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:13 (five years ago) link

yes - a spectacular undertaking KM - take the week off!

imago, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:14 (five years ago) link

Amazing winner that I didn't vote for on a silly technicality.

Great work Karl Malone, this has been great fun.

Gavin, Leeds, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:14 (five years ago) link

I'm not as familiar with that as I guess I should be. It reminds me a lot of an MBV tune. Did they steal the tune?

kraudive, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:15 (five years ago) link

Great work on one of the best ever ILM polls KM.

kraudive, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:16 (five years ago) link

I was soooo sure Hybrid Moments would be here. Tif I hadn’t heard it before this poll, but then I REALLY loved it. Not so with other nominated Misfits songs. But anyway thank you whoever nominated it! Further thanks later for other favourite finds.

Also, fully deserving winner! So great.

alrakis morissette (tangenttangent), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:16 (five years ago) link

A worthy winner of any poll.

Outdoor Miner isn't bad, either.

Good cop, Babcock (Chinaski), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:16 (five years ago) link

Thanks, Karl! This poll was great fun, and the images were superb.

I voted for 'Outdoor Miner' but it doesn't feel like an overpoweringly BEST SHORT SONG OF ALL TIME song to me, it's just... real good. But I'm not sure what would have felt more right (maybe 'Final Day', maybe one of the oldies?)

emil.y, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:16 (five years ago) link

I don't get Wire, but whatever, yrs wtev.

lefal junglist platton (wtev), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:17 (five years ago) link

Karl Malone, thank you for the most entertaining poll ever. Pretty sure this brought so much joy into many people’s weeks.

alrakis morissette (tangenttangent), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:17 (five years ago) link

Thanks KM. This was great fun. The Rewards Committee will consider your bonus at the end of Q1.

Jeff W, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:18 (five years ago) link

Best poll ever etc. Thank you Karl. And now we have a golden playlist, to treasure for the rest of our days.

mike t-diva, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:18 (five years ago) link

Thanks for all the hard work KM

thanks everyone! when i get home later tonight i will post full results

these are not all of the possible side effects (Karl Malone), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:19 (five years ago) link

I'm with emil.y. I also don't feel 'final day'. But my ballot was stacked with oldies. I said it before, but 'stay' was way too low.

lefal junglist platton (wtev), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:19 (five years ago) link

A truly golden playlist, but let's not forget the members of the 120 who aren't on Spotify for their own foolish reasons. They're there in spirit!

imago, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:19 (five years ago) link

Thanks KM. ILM at it's least partisan is ILM at its best.

lefal junglist platton (wtev), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:20 (five years ago) link

I am admittedly not very familiar with Wire and Outdoor Miner sounds like a GBV song -- lol!

Thanks KM!! I learned some things :)

The immortal Hydra Viridisimma (outdoor_miner), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:24 (five years ago) link

had no idea what would win this, my guess at the one thing we could all agree on was…..ERUPTION lol

orifex, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:24 (five years ago) link

Shall we have a separate thread for ballots etc?

imago, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:27 (five years ago) link

I would vote yes on that

Emperor Tonetta Ketchup (sleeve), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:27 (five years ago) link

y/n on waiting for KM to post the lot first tho

imago, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:30 (five years ago) link

My #1 didn’t make it, which wasn’t a huge surprise but my. #2,’Follow the Sun’ one of the top 5 Beatles songs didn’t make the 120, totally sucks.

imago, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:33 (five years ago) link

I couldn't remember which Madvillain track is "Accordian". Turns out it's the one with... all the accordian. Nice.

Thanks for all your work Karl Malone! Surely the least predictable poll rollout I've seen.

Nag! Nag! Nag!, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:34 (five years ago) link

yeah the total unpredictability was great fun

Emperor Tonetta Ketchup (sleeve), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:35 (five years ago) link

1 and 2 were both new to me and I don’t think ill ever listen to them again. Just can’t understand how those are consensus picks. Very minor songs idk.

Great poll tho no doubt. Thanks for the hard work Karl Malone.

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Friday, 12 April 2019 22:36 (five years ago) link

I've been watching this thread for a while (and listening along via the Spotify playlist) and the amount of work that must have gone into it is just amazing.

Thanks KM.

fragglerock, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:40 (five years ago) link

I should be home in about an hour! full results will be up then. i don't know if we need a separate thread for results? i mean, i'm fine with them all going here, but it's up to you all

Basically AWOL during the countdown, sorry--work. Great job, KM. I'll hold off on my ballot till everyone decides where they should go...Okay, now I know.

clemenza, Friday, 12 April 2019 22:54 (five years ago) link

good job everyone who voted and a hundred thanks to km for running it.

rad to see leee voting for that lil bach tune, ppl should check it out

diamond day is a tune where the absurdly precious tone works, she sings the song like it's a bubble she has to take great care not to burst. its oversensitive to the point of being totally enchanted in a childish way that puts me in mind of things like studio ghibli animations and the combination of its fragility, its incredible lightness & its casual, domestic, comforting intimacy has grown to feel more overwhelming the more I've listened to it and the older I've got. plus it feels like she's singing to herself which is always my favourite sort of singing
