The new lp 'Polycrisis: yes!' is a real good time. Inhabiting a sort of Scott Walker meets Olivia Block world, but losing some of the classicist and theatrical elements of her last record (and the Jenny Hval guest features). Those craft-y elements worked great on AM radio style songs like "Wherever You Go" (which doesn't seem to be on youtube, or I'd link it here - it's quite lovely), but, this time around you get nice long stretches of slow moving sound and texture that create a space where her acquired taste vocals can be missed a bit more (though I do legit enjoy her singing). Like Olivia Block making a dramatic pop record... or somebody taking backing tracks from 'Blemish' and adding drums and declamatory vox. Clearly a ymmv record. hahaha

Not sure any of the new tracks work great as standalones, but, here's two of the vocal songs from the new record that are on youtube:

Anyway, still digesting it, but... with no thread here and the clips from the new album getting less than 1K views/listens, word definitely doesn't seem to be getting out.
