I'm not listening this at the moment, but Facebook coughed it up in the recent past - one of those odd instances of social media algorithms coughing up the right magic somehow. Beats is banging, as the kids say.

This song (and its parent LP, the only one the band ever released) still carries a charge. (Way) back when I still ran a physical zine and was exchanging them with strangers through the mail - 1996, specifically - I wound up with a mixtape featuring "Devil to the Lamb," then spent years seeking Fur's s/t record. (Ultimately got lucky - thank you, Bert's in Newark, Delaware!) Hopefully it's not totally lost to history. Hopefully Holly Ramos is plotting a comeback somewhere.

That Blur song is indeed good. I like how extremely relaxed and soothing it is. I did not know it before. Is the hoover noise also in the original or has it been added for the video? I find it sounds a little bit out of place in the song.
Unfortunately I cannot play the other video. It might be because of my old Android 4.4.2.

But I'd remiss if I didn't shout out Cave Bares, a sort of bizarre situationalist outfit that struck my fancy. Caroline Bren, a principal member, committed suicide recently.
Here is their bandcamp: https://cavebears.bandcamp.com/?fbclid=IwAR0EyJUff2v7J_0oMpbNbL8-S24sr32nvZldSE_6p9me90sY2I-mzCo7L2I
Here is a message from Nick Williams, member of Cave Bears:
"It feels like a different part of my life but I spent a decade playing in this band with Caroline Bren (aka Carrie, Morgan, Ke and Kyle in other lives) and now she's gone and jumped off the French King Bridge. I've never known anyone else like her and doubt I will again. Listening to this absurd music we made together was somewhat comforting to me. When I look back on Cave Bears it's often to the tune of "what were we thinking?" but sometimes maybe we were onto something. I have some copies of this tape left, which was probably her favorite. All proceeds donated to an as-yet-to-be-determined charity related to suicide and mental health, ideally based in the Pioneer Valley of Western Mass (any recommendations appreciated)"

("Cave Bares"? Yikes. "Cave Bears".)
We are certainly in a Sightings moment. This song is not quite indicative of the typical Sightings experience, but it nevertheless acts as a rallying tonic for me when I need one. I love it to death:

Haven't taken a dive into Wolf Eyes in a long time. Used to really like "Dead Hills" and "Slicer" too, and the "Burned Mind" I remember being pretty fond of and I kind of checked out then other then catching them live when they would come through. Not sure I ever had access to "Mugger" or "Human Mind," maybe I will do some revisiting. Just saw that all of these are on their Bandcamp site (along with TONS of other stuff).

Wow, a lot of typos, sorry. I think you get the idea hah hah. Really enjoyed seeing the Dilloway-era band live, they were great. He brought a great element that I always kinda missed after, though Olson and Nate as a duo I like a lot too.

grandavis, there's a lot of good stuff in their catalogue but there's definitely some chaff. I've enjoyed them the couple times I caught them this decade but envy that you got to catch the wild 00s sets.
