This is an interesting album. 80s sound, strong Floyd/The Wall vibe, but despite all of the influences it's probably his most original work so far. Production is great, songwriting inspired.
I saw him live in 2013 when he was touring the Gentle Spirit / Fanfare material, enjoyable psych jams, innocuous, somewhat derivative. Just checked the appearances on Fanfare, he got Crosby, Nash and Jackson Browne sing on it! Anyway, since then a lot has changed I guess - Jonathan has become a sought out producer working with Misty John and Lana del Rey.
Can't believe he/Bella Union put the entire new album on Youtube, I guess they didn't expect to make a lot of money on it.

I recommend any Floydians to at least enjoy the first song to get the vocal entrance around 1:56 hilarious stuff

Yes, saw him with Waters the other day. He alternates the lead gtr parts with Dave Kilminster and sings the Gilmour/Wright vocals. Great guitarist and he even bears a passing resemblance to DSotM-era Gilmour from a distance with his long straggly hair.
