Sarah Klang - Love In The Milky Way, et al.

About a year ago, I stumbled across Sarah Klang while going down some online rabbit holes and heard the song "Strangers." I followed the succession of singles she released through 2017, but was surprised last Friday when she dropped a full-length, Love In The Milky Way. I've since listened to it about a dozen times (it's a fairly compact album). There's an almost oppressive melancholy about it (they call her "the saddest girl in Sweden"), simply arranged but rich—the closest "maybe it's..." thing I can manifest is "did you ever wonder what it would sound like if Lana Del Rey recorded cool Nashville music?"

Anyway, I'm pretty smitten.

no, because I already own several Hope Sandoval records

sorry to be snippy; I do plan on checking out the links you posted bc I like stuff that sounds like how you describe this sounding

I hear about 900% more Angel Olsen than LDR in her vocal style js

I have a very superficial knowledge of Angel Olsen, so she didn't immediately spring to mind. (I'm also not wild about LDR...I was just straining for easy comparisons.)

Hope Sandoval never ever goes uptempo, though. She's strictly dirgey.
