Almost a decade since I last played the Overpowered album and “Checkin’ On Me” is sounding amazing to me now. I didn’t think much about it back then and it’s my favorite song right now.

I think the only thing I don’t love about the “Roisin Machine”era is her look because she’s incredibly attractive but she looks terribly decadent with that makeup. I get that’s the intention but still..

wild how once you dip a toe into the TERF swamp it just completely envelops you and becomes your entire persona

I just assume there was a kernel of evil always there, waiting to bloom

i really loved Roisin Machine but i always felt she was maybe not the greatest person in the world, not necessarily evil but maybe just not particularly humble, graceful, or kind. this was obv a surprise at the time it happened though, and i think more than anything else she's just a total phony who is currently punching down. just total self destruction yeah, though of course her contributing to the side of the enemy is a far sadder crime.

Yeah, I'm sure there are a bunch of miserable assholes out there making music, but most know better than to let it plop out in public (other than Roisin, Morrissey, Nico...)

All of this has just sucked. Has made some of my favorite music of the last three decades, and was still putting out great stuff. Better than what she did 25 years ago even.

I can kinda separate art from artist,mostly... but listening to her now is like eating a great meal at a restaurant, but the restaurant also literally smells like shit.

i'm glad i don't miss listening to her music, like at all. the best things she did were maurice fulton collaborations and thankfully i can just listen to maurice fulton's million other collaborations / remixes if i want something that scratches that itch. my attachment to her music must have been as shallow as she is.

the only thing i might have some residual fondness for is the francois k and eric kupper remix of moloko's "forever more" but i'm afraid i'd just find her lyrics unbearably sappy and self-regarding now.

I was more into her melodies than her lyrics but yeah, I haven’t played any Moloko since she started showing her ass
