saw them last night, "dogs" and "texas" work really well in the set, new album has grown on me, was not drunk but still had a time. also I think they might be my favorite current band without any harmonies or backing vocals?

i like them a lot, they definitely scratch a very specific musical itch for me. i need to listen to the new one more but i really liked the one long song ("hiding places").

i still haven't heard the new one!!!

More people need to (re)listen to this album. Myself included.

usually a pile album has a few slow, stirring, stunning songs punctuated by songs that are pretty much just somersaulting riffs, but there's not only the sense on this record that they've gotten the balance right (cf. "on a bigger screen") but that they're even pushing outside of their previous modes into new ideas of atmosphere ("other moons"). also all the songs are good
