Already one of the greatest grime MCs

paolo, Friday, 3 February 2017 16:05 (two years ago) link

You're never too big for Adele >>>

paolo, Friday, 3 February 2017 16:05 (two years ago) link

I'm not really big on his other singles but this is exactly what I wanted from him.

Matt DC, Friday, 3 February 2017 17:46 (two years ago) link

beat's cool, very event-y

not feeling the verses too much, but he's obv v talented

niels, Friday, 3 February 2017 18:51 (two years ago) link

hmm it's growing on me, and I'm def rooting for stormzy

there's perhaps just a hint of swedish chef in the chorus delivery...

niels, Friday, 10 February 2017 15:03 (two years ago) link

is this a grange hill spin off?

Apparently every single song in this album is currently in Spotify's UK top 50. Whether that includes the Crazy Titch Interlude I have no idea.

Stormzy's verse is quite good. The rest of the song is complete garbage

saw one of his videos on BET here in the states

curmudgeon, Friday, 14 April 2017 16:06 (two years ago) link

niels, Sunday, 16 April 2017 10:36 (two years ago) link

Love this dude and maybe 3/4 of the album but I don't really see the point of trying to break him in America, especially like this.

Matt DC, Sunday, 16 April 2017 11:17 (two years ago) link

coachella crowd looked into it

(Intro: Risse (sampled throughout)
In your town to–
In your town to–
In your town to–

Aha... and here's the original a cappella:

From Risse's "House Train", a tune from the golden era of Chicago pet ownership.

So those are the sample's lyrics! All my guesses resembled "critics fail to transcribe hip hop".

This track's my favourite so far this year, I think.

Did he really just send for Theresa May and tell the Daily Mail to suck his dick at the Brit awards?

Matt DC, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 22:28 (one year ago) link

If so <3

Matt DC, Wednesday, 21 February 2018 22:28 (one year ago) link

There's a new (non-grime) track. Fuck the government and fuck Boris

paolo, Friday, 3 May 2019 07:48 (four months ago) link

gahhhhhhhh Vossi Bop is the best!!!! why is he so good

Lil' Brexit (Tracer Hand), Friday, 3 May 2019 08:54 (four months ago) link

I love that he's going to have a number one with a song that goes "fuck the government and fuck Boris".

Matt DC, Friday, 3 May 2019 09:04 (four months ago) link

the video is awesome.

Lil' Brexit (Tracer Hand), Friday, 3 May 2019 22:14 (four months ago) link

So on UK radio, they edit out “Fuck Boris” but let him talk about giving someone a facial several times in the chorus. It’s a funny old world

the article don, Tuesday, 7 May 2019 22:09 (four months ago) link

that is the best music video I've seen in forever

Stormzy's headline glastonbury set is pretty good, only small complaints are: wish he would tone down the god stuff a bit, the band is worse than the original beats, also rapping over Shape of You was very much not good, could he please never do that again.

mfktz (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Friday, 28 June 2019 22:36 (two months ago) link

The new single is basically gospel with rapping. He's really not that great of a singer but big him up for trying something different.

paolo, Saturday, 29 June 2019 07:30 (two months ago) link

only small complaints are:

also I realise it's churlish but dude you really don't need a union flag of any kind on your person

nashwan, Saturday, 29 June 2019 13:43 (two months ago) link

Not even a BANSKY union jack?

Blandford Forum, Saturday, 29 June 2019 15:57 (two months ago) link
