In high school my mate bought a single from St Anger (we didn't know any better OK) and on it there was a live version of an older track, I forget which one, but before it starts you hear Hetfield bellowing

YEAH

RIFF-AH

which always tickled me.

So that is my Other.

This thread is reminding me of the classic Metallica / Beatles mashups of a few years ago - "Got to Get You Trapped Under Ice" etc

some honorable mentions:

Load tour, the way he had such trouble hitting high notes on Master so he mashed the words together to get it over fast - "BLINDEDBUHME".

more of an eye-roller, "4 Horsemen" - 'time HAS TAKEN A SHIT ON YOU' ...tho I think he retired that one recently, thankfully.

"Bush of FI-YAH" - Creeping Death. not really an ad-lib but it's like he never sang it that way pre-1993 and now he's consistently done it that way for 20 years.

The "Disney version" of Slipknot's 'Wait and Bleed' in particular seriously tickles me!

I long suspected Jaymz yelled the extremely obvious "MASTERRRRRRRRRRRR" during the opening riff of the aforementioned tune to give a 'hint' to all of the bandwagon fans at the shows during the Black Album tour but I can't remember if actually did that then or if that came about on later tours.

five years pass...

starting at 2:35, some of the weirdest vocal tics I've heard him do. probably due to being hoarse and having his voice cracking like hell throughout the song and getting fed up.

2:36 - is this him doing a British accent?
2:47 - makeyaREAAAAAAAAAAAL
4:49 - has he joined the Proclaimers?
4:53 - the way he says "nothing's fair" sounds like a Romeo Void song
5:07 - a repeat of 2:47
5:19 - now he's the dude from B-52s
