The surefire way of checking if you have the right labels, is that the Prince Language remix sounds a lot like the original ("your love away from me, you can't hide..."), all the rest are quite different from the original version.

Pitchfork reviewer seems to have the right copy? "Prince Language throws on some dub wobble, but you've got to A/B the two versions closely to even gauge what he's added or subtracted, the "playing with the levels" school of remixing at its blandest."

Just posted on Facebook re LCD Soundsystem:

groovypanda, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 20:19 (sixteen years ago)

And there's more:

will totally tour next year also. as many places as we can. places we've been to a bunch (hello, dearest glasgow!) and hopefully places we've never been (mexico? serbia? china?) with what i think will be the best version of the band yet. there will most likely be a single before the new year, and the new 45:33 remixes are coming out right now.

should be a certain number of free downloads of the new single when it's ready. i must say, though, that we're trying to make the vinyl include a free download, so i recommend that. mainly because we worked really hard on the art and the mastering, and we're proud of it.

the art is photos by ruvan Wijesooriya and graphics by dfa superdesigner mike vadino of bureau. the mastering for the vinyl (and digi) is by my engineer hero, original mentor, and best vinyl cutter ever, bob weston of shellac at chicago mastering. i'm honestly really excited.

there was a set of his online with me on the second half but I can't find it.

dan selzer, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 14:48 (sixteen years ago)

that mystery mix was the first "release" on Italians Do It Better, or was supposed to be. Jacques made CD-rs with silkscreened covers I think and MIke sold them or was going to or was going to release it or something. Jacques gave it to me when he used to come to the alldisco parties, he had my at Mya + the MIrror.

dan selzer, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 14:50 (sixteen years ago)

i have one of those! got it with the first three IDIB 12"s.

LCD Soundsystem will release a new 12" single through select record stores on Record Store Day's 'Vinyl Saturday', November 7; the digital release will follow on November 24.

The track isn't taken from the forthcoming LCD Soundsystem album, which is due out in March. Nor does it offer any great clues to how the album will sound: it's a cover of Alan Vega's 'Bye Bye Bayou', rendered in the jam-style of LCD circa 2003-4, with that signature rolling bass and galloping drum sound that we all know and love, and Murphy doing his inimitable spoken vocal thing over the top. On the flipside of the 12" is an acapella.

The original 'Bye Bye Bayou' appeared on Alan Vega's eponymous 1980 solo debut.

The Yura Yura Teikoku album is decent, although not as poppy as i thought it was going to be. Some nice sax action. Also, in a welcome turn of events, DFA have a proper website again now!

"I haven't left. If that was the case then, well, Murphy's never there, cause he's always touring or in the studio, so that would mean he left, I don't know, nine years ago or something?"
