Gah, this makes me look even more behind things than I am.

The Reverend, Monday, 5 November 2007 09:34 (eighteen years ago)

or..."El Mixeo Reventón", rather.

The Reverend, Monday, 5 November 2007 09:35 (eighteen years ago)

Is that after the new Lamborghini???

Spencer Chow, Monday, 5 November 2007 22:45 (eighteen years ago)

Etymology of "reggaetón": "reggae" + "reventón" (that which explodes, but had come to be slang for a very good party), and yes, it is the name of the new Lamborghini (that explodes)

deej, Monday, 5 November 2007 23:24 (eighteen years ago)

Damn straight.

The Reverend, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 00:23 (eighteen years ago)

Nice. Also similar to El Reverendo obvs.

Spencer Chow, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 00:36 (eighteen years ago)

Right, the finish date for entries is well and truly over now. Sorry, but we have to end it somewhere.

We won't have the poll too soon, just so people have time to download and listen, but I think it would be nice to collate these somewhere so it's a little less messy.

I'll get on it, but I am very tired right now.

the next grozart, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 00:43 (eighteen years ago)

Is anyone really going to listen to all of these???

Spencer Chow, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 05:11 (eighteen years ago)

I'm going to give it a shot. I mean no offense to the talent but there IS such a think as the ffwd button.

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 05:32 (eighteen years ago)

i have listened to 2 1/2 already just today, there's not that many c'mon feel it feel it

tremendoid, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 05:35 (eighteen years ago)

I mean no offense to the talent but there IS such a think as the ffwd button.

Yeah, mine works fine this way, since half my mix doesn't believe in transitions.

By the way, if you want me to sendspace, let me know, but i did put it on archive.org:
i've never been to a dance club, but I bet it sounds like this

Tape Store, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 05:49 (eighteen years ago)

is this the same as the tracklist you posted upthread, ts?

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 6 November 2007 05:52 (eighteen years ago)

Yes. And the title is accurate, obv.

Tape Store, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 05:54 (eighteen years ago)

how have you never been to a dance club? what with all the awesome, burgeoning scenes emerging from columbia's diverse nightlife.

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 6 November 2007 05:57 (eighteen years ago)

Tape Store can't pass for 21.

The Reverend, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 06:03 (eighteen years ago)

Tape Store, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 06:07 (eighteen years ago)

The Light the Fuse mix is great. Love that Medium Medium track.

Jamie T Smith, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 12:29 (eighteen years ago)

thx jamie, glad you dug it

xp- lol I used to go to Shattered

dmr, Tuesday, 6 November 2007 17:24 (eighteen years ago)

Ha, I'm probably not going to listen to any of them, as first I'd need to see what the ILM consenus on which ones are better (i.e. the vote), and I guess I'll just vote for myself then, ha, C'mon, I need this! if only because it'll look good to put on a resume.

mehlt, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 01:01 (eighteen years ago)

Boo, I've been out of the loop for too long. When is there going to be another round!?

Pookas, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 01:52 (eighteen years ago)

I got like halfway done with it, then homework crashed the party, then I assumed I was past the deadline. Earliest I'd be able to get it in at this point would be like Wed night.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 02:16 (eighteen years ago)

just post it! fuck a contest

I want to hear gr80's too

dmr, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 04:59 (eighteen years ago)

ok im still four mixes short but stirmonster and jabba hands look like winner material so far.

, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 13:29 (eighteen years ago)

which ones are those?

the next grozart, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 13:43 (eighteen years ago)

the next grozart, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 13:44 (eighteen years ago)

dan selzer, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:32 (eighteen years ago)

Dan wins for best footnotes.

Jamie T Smith, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 15:38 (eighteen years ago)

thanks. I did make a mistake that I later learned about...A R Kane contributed very little to Pump Up the Volume, more the flipside.

the next grozart, Wednesday, 7 November 2007 18:04 (eighteen years ago)

two months pass...

I forgot to do all of the details, and I quite like this mix so, like I said, that laffy taffy is as good as mine.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/AbXy6001/covert.jpg

http://www.sendspace.com/file/ud3dsh

A little over 60 minutes over various minimal house/techno and that sort of thang. Made with DSS DJ Which is essentially a Traktor clone but with less bells and whistles. I made a cover, but not out of boredom. I mixed this in the beginning of September, but nevertheless I'm banking on it to win me fame and or fortune.

Hi. I've been missing for a while, but I just listened to this mix again and realized that it's really good.

Ha, I'm probably not going to listen to any of them, as first I'd need to see what the ILM consenus on which ones are better (i.e. the vote), and I guess I'll just vote for myself then, ha, C'mon, I need this! if only because it'll look good to put on a resume.

OK, this is way beyond blatant self-promotion, but what ever happened with this contest? Google didn't tell me much.

viborg, Thursday, 10 January 2008 23:46 (eighteen years ago)

yeah it's time we got voting. i haven't got a lot of net access at the moment though. should do soon, but if anyone wants to create a poll, go ahead.

the next grozart, Friday, 11 January 2008 00:28 (eighteen years ago)

six months pass...

so who won?

dan selzer, Tuesday, 5 August 2008 14:40 (seventeen years ago)

we are all winners
