oh hell, it probably is fer real. forget i said anything. no one has to eat anyone's wife.

andrew m. (andrewmorgan), Monday, 31 January 2005 19:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Aw.

andrew m's wife (Dan Perry), Monday, 31 January 2005 19:25 (twenty-one years ago)

This album it to contain only B-sides and all A-sides are to relesd in 10 singels This things said some guy who was saying he know guys from Daft.

That's bullshit. That's like having an artist release an entire album on CD as only one track...

oh..wait.

donut christ (donut), Monday, 31 January 2005 23:25 (twenty-one years ago)

the 'it's not them' line is silly silly fanboy wishful thinking that seems to make some sort of horrible sense.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 31 January 2005 23:26 (twenty-one years ago)

but is mostly just sour grape flavoured disappointment.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 31 January 2005 23:27 (twenty-one years ago)

... and incredulity.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 31 January 2005 23:27 (twenty-one years ago)

hahha "Just Lose It" CAN'T be the new single! It just can't!

miccio (miccio), Monday, 31 January 2005 23:32 (twenty-one years ago)

So, how do you think it's holding up?

I still like it a lot, LOVE the title track, but tend to skip Robot Rock - want to experience it while out, instead.

However, what I can't stop listening to is the Make Love remix. Has any other remix leaked?

JakeWithBrain!, Wednesday, 2 February 2005 14:21 (twenty-one years ago)

The track I've gone back to repeatedly is "Technologic". Still haven't heard the "Make Love" remix.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 2 February 2005 14:58 (twenty-one years ago)

guesses on who's "singing" "Technologic?" very obviously not french-inflected english to my ears.

andrew m. (andrewmorgan), Wednesday, 2 February 2005 17:10 (twenty-one years ago)

no way. it totally is; my french friend even pointed it out

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 2 February 2005 19:03 (twenty-one years ago)

the only tracks i really REALLY love are the first two - listening to them much more than the others

i assume it's Bangalter's voice on 'Technologic', as i assume it was on 'Teachers'

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Wednesday, 2 February 2005 19:29 (twenty-one years ago)

If there is a remix album planned by bootleggers it should be called 'Human Overhaul'. it took me ages to think of that so i just want to declare it here before anyone steals it.

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Wednesday, 2 February 2005 19:30 (twenty-one years ago)

or Numan After All if it's a Grey Album style affair, this time using different Tubeway Army tracks

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Wednesday, 2 February 2005 19:30 (twenty-one years ago)

"The English is Frenchie-inflected!" *snap*

THEY SHOULD OPEN A CHINESE RESTAURANT CALLED HUNAN AFTER ALL

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 2 February 2005 20:11 (twenty-one years ago)

haha!

David D (djdee2005), Wednesday, 2 February 2005 23:36 (twenty-one years ago)

did anyone find out who did the make love remix? it sounds slightly like superpitcher to these ears. though i doubt it.

glenny g2003 (glenny g2003), Thursday, 3 February 2005 09:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I know that aphex twin were planning on doing a B side CD then release the A side in form of singles, so I do hope that daft punk are gonna do the same coz I am a massive fan and to be honest with you as real as the leaked CD is it still sounds like they made it over one night when they were drunk and thought "yeah that ll do, lets go to bed" check out this link http://podaufeu.free.fr/uploads/breakwater_-_release_the_beast.mp3 then listen to robot rock………. Yeah that’s right anyone could have done the fucking track.

omikron, Thursday, 3 February 2005 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Just adding fuel to the fire, BUT:
received this email today from a musicfriend (XXX) who may or may not post on here and who has been quite reliable in the past:

I thought you would find this amusing. My girlfriend's brother (ZZZ)is an artist in Paris and runs into the Daft Punk guys now and then - he says (as you can see below) that the tracks that have been going around, which I assume are the ones you sent me, are a joke by Daft Punk to create buzz about the new album.

no no in fact, this tracks are running everywhere on internet, i dj-d
some the other night in Paris, anyway, i'm sure that it is a joke from
the daft to make the buzz..it is not the real tracks from the new lp..

Maybe he was upset that that people are hearing them in advance that so that's why he said what he did?

You know what, after a brief talk with Thomas bangalter last night, it seems that all the songs that we listen from the "new" daft punk record are FAKE, it is possible that it is a joke or something, and the songs we have are only very "old working files"..funny no ?

Although Miccio's 'Just Lose It' conspiracy joke brings back memories of another black musical day for me, I've been hard pressed to believe that this is anything but a first gloss of what the final tracks would sound like. I expect these to show up on the album, yes; but in radically different forms with another twelve layers.

THAT SAID, this is still quite listenable and likable but I find myself queing up the John Legend album more often these days.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Thursday, 3 February 2005 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

you seriously expect that? sheesh...all the best!

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Thursday, 3 February 2005 23:45 (twenty-one years ago)

The title track went down *very* well at a hipster party last night.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Sunday, 6 February 2005 02:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Technologic went down incredibly well at the house party we through last night too (although Freak Nasty's "Da Dip" stole the evening, really)

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Sunday, 6 February 2005 03:15 (twenty-one years ago)

we through = we threw obv

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Sunday, 6 February 2005 03:17 (twenty-one years ago)

donut christ (donut), Sunday, 6 February 2005 03:38 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah i wasn't thinking my bad.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Sunday, 6 February 2005 03:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I just listened to what's going around on the net as "Human After All" and I have to add my voice to the chorus of people who will be surprised if these really are the finished versions of these songs. I mean it just feels like there is a lot of room for more in these tracks, and after "Discovery" it's hard to imagine that they'd be able to show such anorexic levels of self-control.

Drew Daniel (Drew Daniel), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 21:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I have to say that I agree with you.

None of us know the full story yet, I feel.

adam.r.l. (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 21:57 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a puzzle!

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 22:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Who dares to be the sleuth to unravel this one?

Tong says it's "a grower"

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 22:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Luis Ortiz writes "Just wondering, but wouldn't the theme of this group be obsolete once the new Daft Punk album comes out? Its called "Human After All"."

I HAVE HEARD HUMAN AFTER ALL, ITS A MISNOMER, THE ROBOTS WIN IN THE END.

Alienus Quam Reproba (blueski), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 23:10 (twenty-one years ago)

tong is right. i've grown out of it.

mark p (Mark P), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 23:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Tong says a lot of things.

adam.r.l. (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 23:12 (twenty-one years ago)

The single was real... and that wasn't all that much more than looped sample. Great sample though, terrific record!

JoB (JoB), Wednesday, 16 February 2005 23:16 (twenty-one years ago)

i really liked what i heard of "robot rock" for the first 2 minutes i think! i'll probably learn to love the final 2:30. i like "human after all" the track the most just now, but then i can listen to vocoder wanking all day.

ken c (ken c), Saturday, 19 February 2005 20:08 (twenty-one years ago)

that tune and "harder faster. etc." from the last album were the two that make me want to just put my head down and dance in my own little world forever.

ken c (ken c), Saturday, 19 February 2005 20:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I heard the title track on the radio last night, and in that context I thought - wow this is an amazing track and better than anything this guy has played all week.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Saturday, 19 February 2005 21:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I relistened to the album yesterday for the first time in a couple of weeks and it already felt very familiar to me in a good sense, that comfort level you get from a good record. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 February 2005 21:54 (twenty-one years ago)

god i hope the wishful-thinking naysayers are right

s1ocki (slutsky), Sunday, 20 February 2005 00:02 (twenty-one years ago)

is the hiss and fuzz i'm hearing on the leaked tracks just cos they were encoded from vinyl or part of the faux-rock aesthetic or a sign that they might not be the real final things?

jermaine (mitchlnw), Sunday, 20 February 2005 00:07 (twenty-one years ago)

"Human After All" and "Primetime of Your Life" are good, but the record is downhill starting from the pointless train noises at the end of the latter track.

jaymc (jaymc), Sunday, 20 February 2005 00:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Press promos have been sent out, so if you haven't already heard otherwise, I'd guess what you've heard are finished versions. It sounds pretty minimal to my ears - not bad, necessarily, but definitely quite sparse

Jason J, Sunday, 20 February 2005 22:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Heard the Soulwax mix of Robot Rock in mixed & unmixed form last night, though I'm not the best judge (I find the original track highly iritating) it's definitely a step up from the album version. They've cut out the more obnoxious side of the track, there's more 'space' and breaks / variety in the remix. I wish they'd replace the album version with this, it justs feels like more of a proper track.

Also a tidbit that HAA might not be the only Daft Punk longplayer released in the next year. Dunno what to make of that - either another album, compilation of singles or what, but the source is pretty trustworthy.

MattR (MattR), Sunday, 27 February 2005 19:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned OTM!

djdee (djdee2005), Sunday, 27 February 2005 20:04 (twenty-one years ago)
