it's sooo bad...it's like they had a dare to see who could be more annoying with their lame-ass word-stretching and vocal inflections

yeah i figure most reviews of this will be unreadable. if i'm going to listen to this album in full at some point, it'll have to be a pure, personal experience between me, the music, and the bloated corpse of my youthful jay-z standom.

^^ srs question, what song do you think Kanye was referring to when he said he did "probably one of the best hip-hop beats of all time" for this album -- i swear to god out of the 8 beats he did on BP3 "Run This Town" might actually be the closest thing to a realistic candidate

after 'american gangster' i've pretty much swore off from ever listening to another jay-z album in full

what i hate about American Gangster is that it's always just barely interesting enough that I keep it on but never really enjoy it; at least Blueprint 3 is real easy to turn off, so it's less of a waste of time

I don't like that "Empire State of Mind" Pazz and Jop Single of the Year song.

Having to review "Young Forever" has reminded me that I haven't totally transcended the feeling of absolute hatred for certain pieces of music.

It just appalls me that any piece of music from someone who was ever once good could be this gratuitously bad. Why didn't they even bother to autotune (in the pre-Cher sense) the chorus?

"young forever" is awful but there's at LEAST five worse songs on the album iirc!
