The Inevitable New Jay-Z Album: Blueprint 3

The beat for Venus vs. Mars is kinda cool i suppose. The album is a total mess though.

My opinion on what i've heard so far: At least it's conceivable U2 could have a big hat club.

thing about still following bands with fading talent is that it's usually only evident in one place - jay-z is a mediocre rapper who feels the need to constantly apologize for that fact with his "i'm old, been there done that" lyrics. i don't like being hit over the head repeatedly with the fact that he is old

swizz beats song sounds like 'headsprung'

this is pretty bad. "off that" is growing on me a lot, though - even tho i still dislike the sentiment, it's got some nice lines and i'm basically of the opinion at this point that the faster jay raps the better the song's gonna be

srsly, Forever Young pushes this album firmly into the gahbage pit. that track name, that guest star, that interpolation, that complete and pathetic lack of self-awareness. it's like him giving the final speech at the funeral of his rapping career. :(

the "interpretation" or whatever is awful but it's probably my second favorite track on the album just because i like the original song

talking bout the beat or jay? cuz the beat is actually kinda nice, i like the cracked-out spacey feel, but jay is awful on it

^^ srs question, what song do you think Kanye was referring to when he said he did "probably one of the best hip-hop beats of all time" for this album -- i swear to god out of the 8 beats he did on BP3 "Run This Town" might actually be the closest thing to a realistic candidate
