ah, my +++++++ problem up there isn't really one, just a bug, that's what non-subscriber playlists now do, while subscriber ones are the same. although I'm now glad that I never got around to compiling a playlist.

Even after checking back in periodically over the day, I'm still convinced the designers arranged the page layouts blindfolded.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 18 July 2008 02:21 (seventeen years ago)

otm all those things, plus I want the "Paint It Black" option back too.

musically, Friday, 18 July 2008 02:40 (seventeen years ago)

i guess i don't care about any of this features. my biggest gripe is the paintbrush effect, otherwise what i bothered with before is where I can find it, plus feels more 'right-handed', the empire strikes back :)

tremendoid, Friday, 18 July 2008 04:30 (seventeen years ago)

The beta has been running since may but they haven't listened to the complaints about the player, weekly snapshot charts, paint it black etc

Herman G. Neuname, Friday, 18 July 2008 12:07 (seventeen years ago)

top tracks and top artists setup now with the tabs actually seems v good

but they should've made it like facebook where you can re-arrange/position elements to your own preference

blueski, Friday, 18 July 2008 12:18 (seventeen years ago)

Surely the less like facebook the better?

Herman G. Neuname, Friday, 18 July 2008 14:49 (seventeen years ago)

weekly snapshot is back but 2 clicks away instead of always being on the page with all your charts. Stupid.
Click on Top Artists then click on Browse By Weekly Snapshot.

Herman G. Neuname, Friday, 18 July 2008 14:52 (seventeen years ago)

Are they planning on fixing the play counts? Because it's lost a lot of my plays, for instance my #1, "Umbrella" at 42 plays, is completely missing now. LOL.

Euler, Friday, 18 July 2008 14:52 (seventeen years ago)

Normally i'd say they will probably be fixed next update but im not sure that happens now as it's meant to be a live chart?

Everything seems to be loading a lot faster now, perhaps more quickly than the old version. Maybe they've sorted out the server problems.

Neil S, Sunday, 20 July 2008 15:40 (seventeen years ago)

it's not bad if you go directly to your own page and avoid the home page.

wordpress does not support last.fm embedding, right?

poortheatre, Sunday, 20 July 2008 16:21 (seventeen years ago)

I didn't realize that the weekly charts got axed when I said that the redesign isn't SO bad on another thread... Yep, that sucks. Kind of the whole reason I check this site every week.

I do like the tabs for charts, tho.

Aside from that, the added scrolling to see your charts is unnecessary. That's a step back too.

Anyway, I'm still not convinced this is quite as bad as it's being made out to be. It's something of a step back, and yeah, not really needed. But hey, it isn't a total disaster. The site was always a little on the ugly/slow side, anyway.

Surely there have been much worse redesigns... I mean, allmusic redesign basically made that site completely unusable and it's been that way for years now!

original bgm, Sunday, 20 July 2008 18:31 (seventeen years ago)

the worst thing about this is they'r still doing those dumb last.fm slogans at the bottom of the page

blueski, Sunday, 20 July 2008 21:22 (seventeen years ago)

last.fm broke my fucking seizuregif!

"We’re sorry, but our database servers are currently overloaded. Please enjoy a quick cup of tea and then try refreshing this page."

I'm not that arsed about the redesign although I agree it's not an improvement, but I'd prefer if the site worked at all!
