Oh yeah, I see you kinda discussed some of the mislabeling in your blog post, oops.

matt2, Monday, 24 August 2009 16:54 (sixteen years ago)

i think the theo was mislabeled as prins thomas, the prins thomas was mislabeled as padded cell, and the padded cell was mislabeled as theo?

fleetwood (max), Monday, 24 August 2009 17:10 (sixteen years ago)

oh wow i didn't realize how widespread this was, sorry for all this confusion. i guess that second link is actually the riley reinhold and another padded cell remix, but if you can track down the 13+ minute PT version it'd be worth your while

psychgawsple, Monday, 24 August 2009 17:13 (sixteen years ago)

who the fuck knows

fleetwood (max), Monday, 24 August 2009 17:16 (sixteen years ago)

found this someplace on the intwerwebs...

runaway 7:34 - (mislabeled as pilooski)
prince language 7:54 (& sounds like the original) - (mislabeled as padded cell)
prins thomas 13:15 - (mislabeled as prince language)
theo parrish 10:08 - (mislabeled as runaway)
trus'me 7:33 (first 6 or 7 seconds silent) - (mislabeled as riley reinhold)
padded cell 7:56 - (mislabeled as theo parrish)
Pilooski 6:58 - (mislabeled as trus'me)
riley reinhold 9:02 (mislabeled as prins thomas)

psychgawsple, Monday, 24 August 2009 17:22 (sixteen years ago)

what a mess tho huh?

psychgawsple, Monday, 24 August 2009 17:24 (sixteen years ago)

Deliberate?

To foil the file-sharers?

Jamie T Smith, Monday, 24 August 2009 17:37 (sixteen years ago)

Still haven't got hold of the Theo Parrish yet, but at least I know I'm looking for the Runaway mix.

I've been so looking forward to these that I'm a bit disappointed. Love the standalone vinyl versions of the original SO much.

Cool to hear the lyrics of part three clearly in that Padded Cell mix, though.

Jamie T Smith, Monday, 24 August 2009 17:39 (sixteen years ago)

You can hear the Theo one here: http://soundcloud.com/cmjct/lcd-soundsystem-45-33-theo-parrish-remix-dfa

matt2, Monday, 24 August 2009 17:43 (sixteen years ago)

Ta!

Jamie T Smith, Monday, 24 August 2009 17:45 (sixteen years ago)

Very interested in picking this up. I see it's been snatched over 700 times on Some.Torrent site. Excellent choice of remixers. DC Recordings doesn't get enough respect.

brotherlovesdub, Monday, 24 August 2009 17:53 (sixteen years ago)

you can hear that PT mix here, labeled as prince language (on my cousin's blog! ha)

psychgawsple, Monday, 24 August 2009 18:51 (sixteen years ago)

I think I have the prince language one mislabelled as theo but I haven't listened to it yet...

internetkonnektivität (electricsound), Tuesday, 25 August 2009 00:05 (sixteen years ago)

Didn't notice/remember it before, but regarding I Will Come Back, at the end of the video it says DFA 2224 (Spaghetti Circus, which I still have not seen a physical copy of, is 2223) so good news regarding a proper release.

EDB, Sunday, 30 August 2009 02:18 (sixteen years ago)

two weeks pass...

spaghetti circus is beyond awesome btw, i take back my previous reservations abt it.

Have you heard Cosmic Rave? It's a phenomenal track.

girls just wanna have mixtapes (Masonic Boom), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 13:41 (sixteen years ago)

Yeh Cosmic Rave is pretty good actually.

Can't wait for the Ray Mang 12" on DFA.

Have a listen: http://www.myspace.com/raymang

It'll have three tracks. Definately "Look Into My Eyes" and hopefully "Let Your Body Go".

plazzTT, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 14:12 (sixteen years ago)

believe it or not

moonship journey to baja, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 14:20 (sixteen years ago)

looks like the leak of the official 45:33 remixes (as opposed to the misnamed files discussed upthread) has made its way onto the web

society for cutting up (tricky), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 15:38 (sixteen years ago)

Junkie XL had a great track in 03 called Superheroes In Our Dreams. The 10min mix on the 12" sounds a lot like Stuart Prices' best mixes from mid-decade.

brotherlovesdub, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 15:56 (sixteen years ago)

LOL. I see now that this song is actually Infusion - Legacy (Junkie XL Synaesthesia Dub). Suppose I should retag my file.

http://www.discogs.com/Infusion-Legacy/release/122085

brotherlovesdub, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:00 (sixteen years ago)

tricky, those are mislabelled too. The real leak with proper titles was a week or two ago I think.

plazzTT, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:13 (sixteen years ago)

The remixes are out today, aren't they? Saw them on itunes this morning, $5.99 for the lot.

Has anyone head this Q&A 12" out later this month?

More Butty In Your Pants (Telephone thing), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:17 (sixteen years ago)

and ARP. And the host of the new party Street Waves every last saturday of each month at Tandem in Bushwick, next one is setp 26th with guest dj....DAN SELZER.

His moving here as well as Allison from Donuts/Galaxie/Public School etc represents some sort of takeover of the jaded NYC hipster scene by idealistic californians. Or something.

dan selzer, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 17:15 (sixteen years ago)

how is that public school party? i really wanted to go when gavin and eric duncan were djing.

mizzell, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 17:18 (sixteen years ago)

haha, oh well, sorry about the redundancy then!

society for cutting up (tricky), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 17:34 (sixteen years ago)

I went to Public School when the Horse Meat Disco guy was there. Lovefingers got me in but I was alone and it was early and I didn't know anyone else so I had a nice glass of prosecco, sat around thinking about how I don't know anybody anymore, then came home early. Only heard Spun spin. It's a really cool and fun space with good sound. Jeremy Campbell and myself will be djing there Oct. 16th.

dan selzer, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 17:54 (sixteen years ago)

45:33 Remixes are on Spotify too, for those lucky enough. I have no idea if they've tagged managed to tag them properly.

j.o.n.a, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 17:58 (sixteen years ago)

remixes also here: http://amiestreet.com/music/lcd-soundsystem/45-33-the-remixes/

looks like one of the guys from phenomenal hand clap band and arp (who used to be in tussle). saw them perform this weekend. their line up (and sound) is so completely different than what i remember them being.

jaxon, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 18:38 (sixteen years ago)

i like the very end of Q&A's tumbling cubes when it slows down. sounds like it will sound good at 33 like still going theme.

mizzell, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 19:27 (sixteen years ago)

Phenomenal Hand Clap Band just changed his name to Q&A for that type of stuff. I haven't seen Tussle in ages but when I met them, I was under the impression that it was primarily Alexis (PHCB, Q&A, ARP etc) and Andy Cabic. Andy left and formed Vetiver and Alexis is doing all this stuff, but Tussle is still playing.

dan selzer, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 20:15 (sixteen years ago)

I thought Expanding Head Band changed their name to Q&A.

mizzell, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 20:19 (sixteen years ago)

yeah that one.

PHCB is a big band I think. He probably changed it to avoid this very type of confusion.

dan selzer, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 20:29 (sixteen years ago)

looks like quinn's in both band bands http://www.discogs.com/artist/Quinn+Luke

this dude i knew warren was part of tussle playing drums for a while, but he wasn't at the show. i went up to the current drummer and asked what the deal was. i guess they've always been in flux. it was tomo (from coconut - they sound sorta like folky arthur russel) on bass, Jonathan Holland and Nathan Burazer. one of them on drums, one on weird synth noises. i think only the drummer was a constant through the years?

jaxon, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 21:00 (sixteen years ago)

that explains things.

I like the idea of bands as concepts and the members aren't relevant. They should keep evolving till there's been dozens of lineups without the original members.

dan selzer, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 22:32 (sixteen years ago)

Can't wait for the Ray Mang 12" on DFA.

Have a listen: http://www.myspace.com/raymang

sounds like "look into my eyes" is an edit of "love on a real train". didn't somebody just do this?

Williams did it recently with a great remix by Studio

for those who have been counting down the days with their little advent calenders...this has been cancelled/postponed due to a private party. Or at least that's what I was told.

Looks like someone reviewed the mislabeled leak.

matt2, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:00 (sixteen years ago)

wait a minute...

Dominique, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 15:42 (sixteen years ago)

ridiculous

moonship journey to baja, Tuesday, 29 September 2009 16:29 (sixteen years ago)

what was the mislabeled leak?

il miglior Fabio (s1ocki), Tuesday, 29 September 2009 16:32 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, those linked on the second blog are wrong. There is a version of this circulating that is mislabeled. The one labeled as the Theo Parrish remix on the second one is the Padded Cell remix. The version I downloaded had the actual Theo Parrish remix labeled as the Runaway remix. Over on DJH I think someone mentioned that the initial batch of promos sent out had them mislabeled.

The surefire way of checking if you have the right labels, is that the Prince Language remix sounds a lot like the original ("your love away from me, you can't hide..."), all the rest are quite different from the original version.

Pitchfork reviewer seems to have the right copy? "Prince Language throws on some dub wobble, but you've got to A/B the two versions closely to even gauge what he's added or subtracted, the "playing with the levels" school of remixing at its blandest."
