xp - yeah, he took to that naming convention awhile back on his live archival releases. mercifully many of them are brief and often probably not even necessary to index separately, but i'd imagine with a huge box like this it helps even more to up the count of "unreleased" tracks

it does sound better! the boarding house stuff is all nice soundboard recordings which haven't been booted previously. amazing stuff.
the 76 crazy horse live stuff is awesome.
the "Snapshot in Time" disc is a treat, as is the Give To The Wind Orchestra rehearsal recording — both very informal but totally nice. I love the early version of "lost in space," which has Neil on piano (and Ron Wood on guitar?).
the synth pop "razor love" is fantastic, as is "johnny" from the trans era.

it's pretty much the same as the bootlegs that have been around — jagged and angry, not quite gelling.

They probably won't include it, but back in '16, when Fathom Events did a satellite to theatres double-feature of Human Highway and Rust Never Sleeps, they had between the films a special live audience of fans thing with Neil & Cameron Crowe. After a brief interview about the films, they took audience questions, one of the last of which was this older woman who started talking about how much Neil's songs and outspokenness about addiction meant to her because all of her children were addicts (IIRC, one had just died), and she asked about solutions/coping, to which Neil offered very sage advice about to not blame yourself and that, after a point, only the addict themselves can make the decision to stop.

It was so shocking, because up to that point the show had been so fanservicey (Crowe introduced Neil as "The man who got us to buy Ponos so we could own Time Fades Away again!"), and then suddenly everything <GOT REAL>

Sooner or later it all does.
