Both Happiness In Slavery and The Great Below were in my top 5. Both really capture Trent's extremes in terms of sound palette.

“Last” seems less talked about than other Broken songs but I love it so much, maybe the closest he came to a straight rock song but somehow incredibly sexy - the combination reminds me of Jane’s Addiction.

probably isn’t the case, but I’d be completely unsurprised if Reznor tried to push “Starfuckers, Inc.” as the first single

the fragile just doesn't really have obvious singles which is surely one of the reasons it underperformed

Somewhat Damaged never made my ballot but it could've easily. I once had a huge argument with my then boyfriend because I kept absent mindedly playing the opening riff and staring into space for about half an hour. It's a fantastic opening track. Trying to find out what the "angrily sawing wood with a blunt utensil" sound that punctuates the intro was one of the things that made me interested in music production. The sound design on The Fragile is impeccable.

Just Like You Imagined is my favorite NIN instrumental. Surprised it placed so high!

Mine too - it was no. 3 on my ballot.

Lots of my other ballot choices in this run: "Beside You In Time" and "And All That Could Have Been" were top 10 picks for me and "The Wretched" and "Eraser" were top 20.

I’m pretty positive on 9 out of 10 but the order is a mystery.

Obviously a lot of singles - I'm more interested to see where any album tracks place. I was disappointed to see "I Do Not Want This" place relatively low but that's nothing compared to my crossness if "The Becoming" misses out entirely.

I'm a bit resigned to "Running" not making it now, sadly.

Starfuckers Inc. better not be anywhere near the top ten. I'd almost prefer Deep.

Regarding the rundown:

SICNH was my number one. I'm particularly fond of the Natural Born Killers version - first verse and chorus with a new long piano outro.

My second highest off PHM, my poll was quite heavy with the sappier tracks. That steam engine is still incredible.

A stunning instrumental first half, the vocals in the second half are powerful but also the worst example of trent's worst lyrical technique - trying to make you sympathise or even identify with an abuser because they feel bad about themselves.
