All good!

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 16 March 2024 01:46 (two months ago) link

still fiddling around on account of my overestimation of my ability to use Vocaloid (have only ever plugged in random vowel sounds, conjuring actual words is slightly more complex, haha) but will absolutely have Taylor's next banger sorted at some point this evening

has anyone volunteered for the boudoir photoshoot (for the album art/WDYLL thread)

Florin Cuchares, Saturday, 16 March 2024 04:56 (two months ago) link

sent

Comfortably numbnuts (Heez), Saturday, 16 March 2024 06:23 (two months ago) link

Got it!

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 16 March 2024 13:44 (two months ago) link

Got quick updates from sarahell and kurt s that time had snuck up on them but they'll aim to have something in the near future (we have time given the 'release date' of April 1); combined with Elvis T and florin's updates here we're on track. If for any reason a gap DOES open up, is there anyone else who can claim a spot? H.P., are you free again?

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 16 March 2024 17:11 (two months ago) link

How is it sounding, Ned? Have any themes emerged?

This is Dance Anthems, have some respect (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Saturday, 16 March 2024 17:42 (two months ago) link

Theme: "bad music" from all pre-homo sapien musician

CEO Greedwagon (Neanderthal), Saturday, 16 March 2024 17:46 (two months ago) link

Actually mega excited to hear everyone's songs

CEO Greedwagon (Neanderthal), Saturday, 16 March 2024 17:46 (two months ago) link

It is a thing of wonder. (As of this point, Neanderthal's song is the longest; front tea for two's is the shortest.)

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 16 March 2024 18:00 (two months ago) link

If there is an emergency, I do have an extra track that another friend of mine and I devised that sounds like really lush hold music, free to anyone that feels like adding vocals/anything.

Josh in Chicago, Saturday, 16 March 2024 18:24 (two months ago) link

I never actually finished mine so let me know if I can keep tinkering. Staying up until 2:30 to “finish” it was a bad idea. As with college papers, I sent what I had.

Comfortably numbnuts (Heez), Saturday, 16 March 2024 19:02 (two months ago) link

throwing my name in as a backup to the backups

polyamerie "it's more than this 1 thing" (m bison), Saturday, 16 March 2024 19:52 (two months ago) link

xpost Feel free to tinker! But there will be a final deadline, no fixing “Wolves” here.

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 16 March 2024 20:09 (two months ago) link

m bison: noted, will follow up as needed!

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 16 March 2024 21:48 (two months ago) link

Okay the stragglers are coming in, we're down to Elvis Telecom, florin and sarahell...

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 March 2024 02:11 (two months ago) link

I know I haven't been about much for the past few years but I'm not sure I would have resisted putting something together for the Post Malone track using just samples from Fortnite and him saying "should we sample this?"

Hello I'm shitty gatsworth (aldo), Wednesday, 20 March 2024 09:53 (two months ago) link

FINALLY have full power restored to the house so I can bring it on home. The windstorm knocked out the neutral line to the house - when power first came back automatically after the first blackout on Thursday, there were still lines down and the resulting voltage spike killed a half-dozen surge suppressers, along with a microwave, a dishwasher, and *fuckfuckfuck* my SL-1200MK3. The first two can be repaired, replaced if absolutely necessary but I'm standing vigil for my turntable.

Elvis Telecom, Wednesday, 20 March 2024 10:21 (two months ago) link

*sad salute*

imago, Wednesday, 20 March 2024 10:29 (two months ago) link

oh so sorry to hear that

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 20 March 2024 10:55 (two months ago) link

ET, you have an EV, right? Were you able to plug the house into the car?

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 20 March 2024 12:38 (two months ago) link

Eesh that all sounds awful!

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 March 2024 15:30 (two months ago) link

Ned’s first listen didn’t go well then

a hoy hoy, Wednesday, 20 March 2024 20:08 (two months ago) link

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 March 2024 20:22 (two months ago) link

lmao

Cemetry Gaetz (DJP), Wednesday, 20 March 2024 20:29 (two months ago) link

(Not at ET’s travails, that all sounds awful and I am pouring one out for your turntable)

Cemetry Gaetz (DJP), Wednesday, 20 March 2024 20:30 (two months ago) link

The Tortured Listener’s Department

✖✖✖ (Moka), Thursday, 21 March 2024 02:02 (two months ago) link

Florin: sent you a note the other day. What's the score?

Finally, sarahel confirms that she'll need to step back so m bison if you can grab "The Tortured Poets Department" itself and get me something by Sunday, we're good!

Ned Raggett, Monday, 25 March 2024 17:10 (two months ago) link

polyamerie "it's more than this 1 thing" (m bison), Monday, 25 March 2024 21:04 (two months ago) link

Thank ya!

Ned Raggett, Monday, 25 March 2024 21:54 (two months ago) link

Okay gotta cough REAL loudly for Elvis T and Florin here; what's going on? (M Bison is working away, obv.)

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 28 March 2024 18:18 (two months ago) link

maybe as a backup plan, m bison records a trilogy!

CEO Greedwagon (Neanderthal), Thursday, 28 March 2024 19:04 (two months ago) link

It's what Elvis (P.) would have wanted.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 28 March 2024 20:52 (two months ago) link

i have my instrumental, i have written the chorus' lyrics, i have good friday off tomorrow and im gonna have it done by sunday

polyamerie "it's more than this 1 thing" (m bison), Friday, 29 March 2024 01:28 (two months ago) link

Great to hear!

Ned Raggett, Friday, 29 March 2024 04:42 (two months ago) link

Well I sure would love to release this tomorrow but… (Nothing against you, m, you got the assignment late. But Elvis T and Florin, I love you both but I’m wondering why you’ve gone dark!)

Ned Raggett, Monday, 1 April 2024 01:23 (one month ago) link

im doing last minute mixing atm, i'll have it to you within an hour!

polyamerie "it's more than this 1 thing" (m bison), Monday, 1 April 2024 02:42 (one month ago) link

Great!

Ned Raggett, Monday, 1 April 2024 03:08 (one month ago) link

polyamerie "it's more than this 1 thing" (m bison), Monday, 1 April 2024 03:21 (one month ago) link

Got it!

Ned Raggett, Monday, 1 April 2024 03:25 (one month ago) link

Release it as is or have the soothing sounds of passing gas as the missing tracks. It’s what Taylor would have wanted.

✖✖✖ (Moka), Monday, 1 April 2024 14:23 (one month ago) link

Spoken word orations.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 1 April 2024 14:35 (one month ago) link

And you're just the man for the job, Ned.

The Prime of the Ancient Minister (Tom D.), Monday, 1 April 2024 14:37 (one month ago) link

If Taylor is allowed to re-release her albums with new or different tracks, so are you.

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 1 April 2024 14:38 (one month ago) link

i will gladly record one or both as Henry Rollins-esque spoken word tracks except making much less sense

CEO Greedwagon (Neanderthal), Monday, 1 April 2024 14:39 (one month ago) link

if there is dead space i can send some filler over but it won't have lyrics or standard song structure
it will have gongs

Piggy Lepton (La Lechera), Monday, 1 April 2024 14:44 (one month ago) link

^omg please do this

CEO Greedwagon (Neanderthal), Monday, 1 April 2024 14:45 (one month ago) link

It's a must.

The Prime of the Ancient Minister (Tom D.), Monday, 1 April 2024 14:49 (one month ago) link

Gongs backing Henry Rollins spoken word??

emil.y, Monday, 1 April 2024 14:50 (one month ago) link

i'd rather leave henry r out of it but whatever works. lmk what is needed (duration) and i will try to find something suitable.

Piggy Lepton (La Lechera), Monday, 1 April 2024 14:52 (one month ago) link

coincidentally and speaking of random spoken word tracks, literally every time i hear "it's a must" i think of REM's "voice of harold"

Piggy Lepton (La Lechera), Monday, 1 April 2024 14:53 (one month ago) link
