I didn’t know his wife passed away last month, that’s sad.

Honestly, the below could describe me on any given day… but it sounds like he’s not doing well. Hope he’s well taken care of, at least. Hang in there, Brian

"He is easily distracted, often even when aware of surroundings, and its purpose. Often makes spontaneous irrelevant or incoherent utterances. Has very short attention span and while unintentionally disruptive, is frequently unable to maintain decorum appropriate to the situation."

“Mrs. Wilson attended to Mr. Wilson’s daily living needs,” the document said, “as Mr. Wilson is unable to properly provide for his own personal needs for physical health, food, clothing, or shelter.”

PG’s (excellent) review upthread of Long Promised Road says this about Brian’s mental state which I agree is likely not far from the current status quo requiring conservatorship:

As an intertitle briefly states, he has experienced auditory hallucinations since his early twenties – hearing violent and abusive voices – and in later life has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. He seems to move through life on a precipice of panic and terror.

I’m relieved to hear he has a support system in the wake of Melinda’s passing.

Bob Mehr thinks Bob Stinson also had schizoaffective disorder.

But Linda Perry, Nick Jonas and the Foo Fighters’ drummer add little insight

Love this detail from the PG review of LPR.
