the version of 'you're pretty good looking' on the 7" runs jack's voice through some weird vocoder effect, not unlike Cher's 'believe' or roy vedas's 'fragments of life'

It had been years since I'd heard Easton's "9-5" (thus my dismissive remark way upthread). I listened about 8 times last night - it's a great song!

Ah, the near-perfect dialectic of the first three Sheena Easton singles! Hell, the songs even begin with consecutive letters of the alphabet...

That "You're pretty good looking" version is the "Trendy American Remix" which is on the b-side of "Lord send me an angel". But it's not specifically listed.

There is no "Fell in love with a girl" seven-inch on Sympathy for the record industry, let alone anything called "It takes two".

Mystery solved: it was a 4-track multi-artist promo 7".

koogs: That trailer has clips of loads of different Nice songs, but more in their better-known prog-rock vein. Emerlist Davjack was their debut single, and hence more psychedelic pop.

If anyone's looking for Mike Spencer & The Cannibals, then be advised that the slow blues B-side "Nothing takes the place of you" was the track that Peel rated (and played to death in the late 70s). I seem to remember him dismissing the actual A-side as nothing special.

I thought only the A-side of Some Chicken had been done, but haven't reread the whole thread, so dunno.

Including some too-obvious-to-YSI stuff (ie. Undertones), I've now got at least one track from 68 of the 130 singles listed (the other 12 being duplicate copies). That's 52%.
