oh shit, no i did not know!! well, that’s sad. this release was delayed awhile which is why i was late to it. deeon’s great but like any producer of workmanlike dance 12s idk there’s much to recommend past the first decade (although it’s always great to see them mix the stuff)

i heard another recent-ish (2022) release today, had a similar guilty thought. i was like … on UR? really???? it sounds like dirtybird! not going to post the artist name etc because i hate being negative about detroit techno but come on if you need to pay bills just repress “final frontier” or “galaxy 2 galaxy” already

they presented it as new tracks and it sounded modern (and real cool) but i think he might have just dusted off real old demos from around when real fast pre footwork juke stuff took off … ended up reminding more of more rugged dj swisha / acemo / kush jones type stuff than teklife

lol i tried to get into this but it sounds like a mess to me, not in a good way. they're pretty hit or miss for me. i like "food of love" with dj sprinkles but even that one gets a little turgid imo.
