it's decent but quite a different vibe for her. definitely not better than anything on the last album but there's tracks i would take it over, sure. presumably some sort of loneliest time side b is on its way?

I like it a lot and - presumably because it's produced by James Ford - I can totally imagine Jessie Ware singing it.

My understanding is that there won't be a full-length side B this time but just an EP of about 5 tracks in length.

And yes she's established herself as a pretty reliably excellent live experience. I saw her again a few months ago and it was just relentless joy and ebullience from beginning to end.

I agree with you. I didn't really talk much about Loneliest Time after it came out, but I listened to it about 3 times and then shelved it. This is something I could spin over and over again.

she's announced the loneliest time outtakes project the loveliest time is out early august, no details on whether it's an album or ep, but rumours are that it's an ep

the first track on this is kinda reminiscent of "1 thing" but chiller? jazzier? she's never made anything that sounded at all like this before

this is very much an outtakes collection in that there is some wild stylistic variation and quality is a bit inconsistent but the highs are excellent and it's nice to hear her go relatively out there

"put it to rest" is going to be my favorite crj song of all time for a while. thinking of it as an indirect sequel to "warm blood," where that took place on the inside this one's on the outside, cool air rushing across bare skin

I can't listen to it yet, so i'm stuck revisiting The Loneliest Time.
And i'm realizing i was wrong about "Beach House". It's glorious.

i'm not entirely convinced by the song of "put it to rest" but the textures are absolutely gorgeous

Enjoying the variety and new avenues on this.

Psychedelic Switch is almost a Perfume track but with the dial tuned a bit more back towards Daft Punk.

This whole album is fantastic, but woah at Put It To Rest. Unbelievable song. Kind of goes a bit Heaven by Emeli Sande towards the end.

I think I've made peace with the fact that the only time CRJ and I were really vibing on the same plane was in 2015. Ah well.

After Last Night, Kollage, Psychedelic Switch and Put It To Rest are up there with my favourite things she's done. I was not expecting to love this album as much as I do.

^^ I'd add "So Right" to those picks. I wasn't crazy about "Shy Boy" so I'm also surprised how much I like this album - her first side-B that rivals the parent album imo

It's the first one I've liked more than the parent album. It might be my favourite since Emotion.

idk Dedicated Side B was pretty great. And Emotion Side B was "only" an EP. So it's not like this has happened so much.

i think it's easily better and more interesting than dedicated side b, but i prefer the loneliest time as an album to this which is much more eclectic for better & worse

It took me a long time to come around to Dedicated and Dedicated Side B. Now I really love them in addition to (and as a continuation of) Emotion. Maybe that will happen to me again with Loneliest/Loveliest, but so far I haven't warmed up to either of them.

Oops got the names mixed up. "Shadow" was the one I'd call a highlight, not "So Right". "So Right" has a nice pre-chorus though

i hesitate to call it one of her best songs about having a crush (so i guess just one of her best songs) but "the architecture of this connection is your reflection / it's always following me" is an amazing pop chorus lyric

Same about « After Last Night ». I hadn’t noticed it was a Rostam co-written/produced track. It doesn’t have his usual style.
