Had she wanted to try her hand at rock (rather than straighter pop) 40 years ago, it would've been fun to see her collaborate with Jason & The Scorchers, the Blasters, John Mellencamp and his band at the time, X, Los Lobos, and above all Lone Justice.

Has she done anything of note, musically, since her early 00's bluegrass trilogy? I listened to that novel tie-in album she put out a year or two ago and it was nothing special.

Her 2008 album with the "She Drives Me Crazy" cover was fine.

i couldn't say. i own little sparrow from that era which is wonderful.

I haven't listened to anywhere close to all of her records, but I wouldn't be surprised if Little Sparrow was her finest work, period. I had "Mountain Angel" on that 50 favourite songs list that I submitted to the Rock Critics blog a little while back.

Those early '70s albums range from okay to great, and even the okay ones have great songs.

it looks like the Jordanaires performed live as recently as 2010 with two classic (50s/60s/70s) but non-original members. Ray Walker (joined in 1958) is still alive. the song on this album was recorded several years ago

Who's producing? This will surely be lame, but it would be cool if it was like Blake Mills/Shawn Everett or even T Bone Burnett, and there was a consistent band and tasteful production.
