they did suffer a bit from following Chris Forsyth, his band has Doug McCombs from Tortoise and Ryan Jewell as the rhythm section and they give him a really strong almost krauty vibe, Forsyth can verge on guitar mag stuff at times for me, but he's a much better soloist than anyone in Garcia Peoples (at least that night)
one year passes...
Finally got to see them again tonight, in a nice small space. They sounded great, played almost all new material - apparently “figuring out what the next album wants to be”. Heard new stuff with some Allman style twin guitar, thought decidedly less southern rock, and one with some great choogle.
PG Six opened on solo harp, it sounded fantastic.
