blueski, Tuesday, 24 July 2007 23:05 (eighteen years ago)

Not sure, gender split was pretty even.

Spencer Chow, Tuesday, 24 July 2007 23:10 (eighteen years ago)

the HUMAN race

blueski, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 00:27 (eighteen years ago)

Did LA have three opening acts like there appear to be for the Seattle show?

Scott CE, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 00:33 (eighteen years ago)

LA had Ratatat (terrible)
and then two DJ sets with SebastiAn and Kavinsky (who are awesome)

Spencer Chow, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 00:36 (eighteen years ago)

wait i heard that it was the same setlist/choreography as coachella...

hmmm...

spencer are you positive?

Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 00:38 (eighteen years ago)

100% Some elements and sections were the same (1st half at least). There are also new effects and the whole encore is new.

Spencer Chow, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 00:52 (eighteen years ago)

I should say 100% positive. I rarely post anything I'm not positive about.

Spencer Chow, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

yeah there was a lot of similar stuff the coachella set, but this one was like a half-hour longer.

max, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 01:47 (eighteen years ago)

it was alot of the same samples and stuff of course. i dont think any two sets are going to be exactly the same. they are mixin on the fly.

chaki, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 01:48 (eighteen years ago)

the HUMAN race

oh undoubtedly haha

tremendoid, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 01:59 (eighteen years ago)

damn what's all them wires about? xpost

tremendoid, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 02:00 (eighteen years ago)

that setup is actually surprisingly simpler than what I had imagined. A whole lot less computer monitor screens than I would have though.

sous les paves, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 02:43 (eighteen years ago)

err thought.

sous les paves, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 02:43 (eighteen years ago)

psyched for friday!!!!!!!!

tricky, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 02:44 (eighteen years ago)

No computers it would appear, but they were using Jazzmutant Lemurs to control everything.

http://musicthing.blogspot.com/2007/07/what-are-daft-punk-actually-playing.html

And Max, I was there on the Concourse as well, row 1 of section 7, which was way in back. Nosebleed, but I saw everything, and it didn't keep me and the gf from dancing through the whole set!

naus, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 04:43 (eighteen years ago)

dude's face in that photo is unbelievable. like WAHT

blunt, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 14:32 (eighteen years ago)

Saw them in Berlin a few weeks ago doing the same set. Lights around stadium in pix here look much better. We had way too much ambient light unfortunately. Cracking set, it was great looking up at stage and seeing them pump fists in the air. The masks and suit thing was incredible, so much better than last year! They also appear to be Jay Z fans as they were doing the pyramid hands thing at the end...

kv_nol, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 14:38 (eighteen years ago)

o man i can't wait. i hope the fact that i am in the seated section of keyspan doesn't totally suck.

mizzell, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 15:48 (eighteen years ago)

thanks Spencer!

Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 16:46 (eighteen years ago)

or no...?

Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 16:47 (eighteen years ago)

Hedi Slimane designed their outfits and took some live pictures last month. They are AMAZING:

Spencer Chow, Friday, 27 July 2007 05:47 (eighteen years ago)

Anyone going to the Seattle show on Sunday or going to the aftershow?

I've put my name down for the free guestlist for the aftershow, but I feel pretty silly going to a club by myself. I'm even spending an extra night in Seattle because of this show (originally I was supposed to leave early monday morning)

Jill, Friday, 27 July 2007 06:10 (eighteen years ago)

I am waaaaay kicking myself over this. I can't even get some scalped tickets and skip work, because I'm in hot water over my chronic tardiness. Is Daft Punk worth getting fired over? I think it may be.

The Reverend, Friday, 27 July 2007 14:44 (eighteen years ago)

don't worry they'll probably tour again in TEN YEARS

blueski, Friday, 27 July 2007 15:26 (eighteen years ago)

Ya, I know. : (

The Reverend, Friday, 27 July 2007 15:27 (eighteen years ago)

They're worth it. I'm serious as cancer when I say Daft Punk is... good?? Arse.

kv_nol, Friday, 27 July 2007 15:45 (eighteen years ago)

those photos are super

W i l l, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

how much are the tickets to these shows? i'm contemplating buying a 1-day ticket for lollapalooza, mostly just to see daft punk, and i wondered how that price compares to their solo shows.

stingy, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:32 (eighteen years ago)

it's $50 here (but i paid a little more because i lagged on tix).

Steve Shasta, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:33 (eighteen years ago)

what do you think - $80 for daft punk, lcd soundsystem, m.i.a., the rapture, blonde redhead, satellite party, etc

stingy, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:39 (eighteen years ago)

Face value in LA was $65, but they were going for 125-150 on craigslist and then up to 200 outside the venue.

Spencer Chow, Friday, 27 July 2007 17:41 (eighteen years ago)

damn! i guess $80 isn't too bad then. it just feels like a lot of money though. i'm not even a huge fan, but i've gotten the impression that this is something you don't want to miss.
