I still scrobble for my own amusement, but the social nature of the site largely died years ago, once concert listings were removed and the disastrous redesign happened. A decade ago, the site was so popular that, at least in my country, a lot of one’s hipster friends were scrobbling there. Plus, it was easy to make new real-life friends by seeing who else in your town was listening to X and arranging to meet up. That doesn’t really happen anymore.

my android scrobbler stopped working a couple of weeks ago and I had no idea until yesterday, was easy to reset, but lost all those scribbles, annoying, this is not the first time either.

I wasn't aware of any issues scrobbling on Macs although as I play music through two I know that it works fine on one but then for scrobbles to be logged from the other I have to start a new session or resume it back on the first Mac.

And so yeah the obsession just about continues.

it seems that this now won't scrobble music played via apple music on mobile, is this true?

I have to turn scrobbling off and on again every few months on my phone as it will suddenly stop for no obvious reason every now and again.

You have to get another app to do it manual. QuietScrob. Works well although not free. Not expensive nevertheless.

The last.fm app scrabbles, you just have to do it manually.

Finding I have to jump start the Spotify Scrobbling app by disabling it, logging out, back in again and re-enabling it more and more. Switching between desktop app, web app and mobile app can still seemingly really confuse it also.

Same for me. Although everything scribbled when the connection was "lost" shows up on reconnecting

my phone blocks it for no apparent reason and doesn't tell me, it does this every three months or so.

I got lazy about constantly re-connecting and found that the missing scrobbles will eventually show up after about a few days to a week anyway.

File this under 'things that shouldn't matter but HELL they matter': listening to lots of Grant-Lee Phillips and different platforms calling him Grant Lee vs others calling him Grant-Lee and the result being split results on last.fm. I have gone through long periods of not using it / it not working for one reason or another, so my page is kind of odd.

my original account sat dormant for a long time & I switched from it to a new one in 2017 but sometimes I end up logged into the wrong one, there's a lot of Sonos-related "this didn't scrobble" stuff but the stats since 21 May 2017 say:
