i don’t often follow up on exaltics releases, i know gerald donald (dopplereffekt) is a big fan, but the dude puts out so much stuff, and most of it gritty heads-down dancefloor electro-techno … just too bleak, not colorful enough to catch my attention. he’s a bit like early 00s anthony rother in that respect.

he just put out his second best-of comp, and this remix from 2011 is on it. to me it’s a “zeta reticula ep 2” level banger and reminds me that when he gets going on the gothy 303 vibe he’s pretty much the only current producer that can step to gesloten cirkel

Anyway, you're welcome! I've had that Andy Rantzen 12" for a while and absolutely love it (highly recommend) but have been sleeping on the rest on this label. So I'm finally making my way through and everything is killer. The Low Flung Coastal Garden 7" is really good, the Breathing Space comp is excellent ambient, and all of the other 12" releases here are jams.

From an altogether quality EP I put on this morning - I got through 3 of its 4 tracks before heading out to spend the day with my niece and fam. Tonight, back home alone, I listened to the last track and decided it was the one to post here, only then noticing the uncannily accurate title. Uncle’s Lonely Nights by Mac and Rudedog. I can confirm that it makes great music for uncles on lonely nights.
