Ok folks, I was told about some lamenting the lack of rock/metal in the poll, so sund4r & I might run a metal poll for the years 2010-2021 (I didn't run a metal EOY poll last year) but it all depends on whether there is enough interest.

Would anyone be willing to take part?

Especially since D'Angelo, Badu and, yes, Sundfor would've likely been on a fuller ballot of mine.

I might have to try one more time with CRJ. I still don't get what people who listen to A LOT of music hear in her. It just seems like she would have been a blip in the 1980s.

Ten Love Songs by contrast seems like world-conquering stuff. That it wasn't huge is proof if there ever was that the music biz is mostly hype and marketing

Kaputt kinda rewired how I think about some kinds of music. I think it laid the groundwork for the Steely Dan revival of recent years too.

10 love songs is a great #1. Kinda like Carly Rae Jepsen but never really understood why she is this much liked, voted for Destroyer and To Pimp A Butterfly (I thought this would win, I guess vote-splitting cost it some votes), should probably revisit D'Angelo album which I haven't listened to since around when it was released. A good top 5 overall.

Rap as a whole seems to have suffered greatly from vote splitting, but I really thought Summertime 06 was more loved here.
