She deserves it. Had a lot of great Pitchfork Music Festival moments in the 2010s - one was hearing the sax of "Run Away With Me" kick off Carly Rae Jepsen's set. Another was dancing to "Inspector Norse" at sunset.

Still no idea why CRJ so bewitches ILM with her perfectly serviceable white-bread-with-a-glass-of-water-on-the-side-for-dippin' mainstream pop sounds.

I guess it was a sign of shitheadedness to come that Grimes seemed mystified and kinda annoyed at this song’s popularity.

"Call Me Maybe" my #1. The only song of the decade I feel fully sure I'll be hearing and loving in 2050. And not just that -- it's a song which I think of as inextricably tied up with my ILM reading, I think the first one where I felt like my grasp of a huge hit was really deepened by the board.

I just listened to "Run Away With Me" for the first time, and I gotta agree, Camaraderie, I'm baffled.

Also, you kids, get off my lawn.

CRJ is a feast of mnstrm pop drama, and some of us like that sort of meal now and again, in between avant-weirdo binges
