St. Etienne ft. Robin Thicke

Malevolent Arugula (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 19 August 2022 14:42 (one year ago) link

Would we love it if they made it?

Ok it’s been years since I heard this The Knife song and it’s a banger.

✖✖✖ (Moka), Friday, 19 August 2022 14:46 (one year ago) link

As a Floridian, I'm not sure I'd love it if we made it tbh

Malevolent Arugula (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 19 August 2022 14:47 (one year ago) link

Voted for "La Joya" but very happy to see Javiera make it this high

Indexed, Friday, 19 August 2022 14:47 (one year ago) link

glad this isn’t higher. not my fav from the album by a long shot

comedy khadafi (voodoo chili), Friday, 19 August 2022 14:47 (one year ago) link

This is the only 1975 track I like, didn't vote for it though.

link.exposing.politically (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Friday, 19 August 2022 14:50 (one year ago) link

I do find it amusing that The 1975 place just as Brad shows up to make a post in this thread.

MarkoP, Friday, 19 August 2022 14:51 (one year ago) link

i actually quite like this

imago, Friday, 19 August 2022 14:54 (one year ago) link

― President Keyes, Friday, August 19, 2022 9:30 AM (twenty-four minutes ago) bookmarkflaglink

voted for “grove st party” haha

comedy khadafi (voodoo chili), Friday, 19 August 2022 14:54 (one year ago) link

Am I going too fast? Or shall I proceed with our countdown?

✖✖✖ (Moka), Friday, 19 August 2022 14:57 (one year ago) link

I didn't end up voting for any 1975. Somebody Else would have been the one.

Nice to see Javiera Mena and the Knife. I think everyone knows my feelings on the 1975 by now.

emil.y, Friday, 19 August 2022 14:59 (one year ago) link

xp nice, nothing at all post-4 would be nuts (assume anything else is out tho)

nashwan, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:00 (one year ago) link

voted for Full of Fire, not a song I listen to that often anymore, but anytime I do it always seems better than what I remember

silverfish, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:01 (one year ago) link

I figured Formation would be here. Not sure if the S/T has one song we all agree on enough to make it this high.

kitchen person, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:02 (one year ago) link

The s/t has become my least favorite of the three most recent albums, but I wouldn't have minded one of the singles placing.

Malevolent Arugula (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 19 August 2022 15:03 (one year ago) link

I fully expect three Beyoncé albums in next week's rollout, but tracks were subject to mad vote splitting.

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Friday, 19 August 2022 15:04 (one year ago) link

That's exactly what I was thinking about The 1975.

That's the one I voted for after realizing that the Flawless nomination was the version without Chimamanda
Would have gladly voted for Drunk in Love too. Don't get the fuss about Love on Top though, and never liked Countdown (still can't believe she intended to do something that would appeal to the art pop audience).

Nabozo, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:06 (one year ago) link

Something tells me there are going to be a couple of surprises in the top ten

I'd wondered if she'd make an appearance.

Malevolent Arugula (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 19 August 2022 15:09 (one year ago) link

Oh wow, is White Foxes coming up next ?

Nabozo, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:09 (one year ago) link

oooh yeah. too many people said they'd voted for it.

abcfsk, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:09 (one year ago) link

As the world gets more tense and irritating, "Full of Fire" sounds better and better.

Chris L, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:10 (one year ago) link

"Accelerate" would've been my pick.

Malevolent Arugula (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 19 August 2022 15:10 (one year ago) link

I would have given this a lot more points than I did if I wasn't also voting for the album. Therefore, too low! Haha

imago, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:10 (one year ago) link

I was team Fade Away, but really I'm team every single song on that album.

kitchen person, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:10 (one year ago) link

I'm team 'if it ended at Slowly it'd be literally perfect'

imago, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:11 (one year ago) link

I've always loved what a weird closer Insects is. It doesn't really have anything to do with the rest of the album, but it somehow works.

kitchen person, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:13 (one year ago) link

First time hearing this. Or am I?

It sounds so much like something else to my ears but I think it might be something in Spanish.

Particularly the mmm is it the bridge? There’s so many hooks I’m not sure which one is the chorus. I mean the “safety net /// the strangest thing” part.

Anyways, cool song!

✖✖✖ (Moka), Friday, 19 August 2022 15:14 (one year ago) link

I need to listen to this album huh?

imago, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:16 (one year ago) link

Wonder what other songs besides "Delirious" will score higher in the decade-end poll than their respective year-end polls.

Bait Kush (Eric H.), Friday, 19 August 2022 15:16 (one year ago) link

Onwards to the top 10

well, yeah

Ratchet was the best thing in the world for a few years, very happy it made the poll. And Aquarius is still such a good album.

Bait Kush (Eric H.), Friday, 19 August 2022 15:28 (one year ago) link

I half-regret not nominating Die a little bit, Life is too short, Feel like Vegas, Bet, Hopscotch... a ridiculous list like that. Next to having 2 On in the top 10.

Nabozo, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:28 (one year ago) link

Both "Delirious" and "Fade Away" are so fucking great.

gman59, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:30 (one year ago) link

Glad Tinashe had an undeniable perfect mega hit and also that she now just makes great albums at her own pace

abcfsk, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:31 (one year ago) link

I'd forgotten how great 2 On was until going through the playlist, fairly late addition to my ballot.

Gavin, Leeds, Friday, 19 August 2022 15:31 (one year ago) link

On Solange: I think I might have listened to this one the first time through some bad speakers because I remember it sounded very dull and never gave it another chance but listening to it now on decent headphones it's kind of blowing my mind.

On Tinashe: completely forgot about this one but it's easily one of the best singles of the 2010s. It still sounds futuristic.
