Hmm. Had no idea ILM rated "Royals" in 2012, let alone now

ILM ranked it in 2013, not 2012. We weren't that ahead of things.

I kind of liked Royals at the time, but it doesn't hold up at all for me, surprised to see it here.

I voted for Green Light, but I absolutely hate Royals.

I voted for Team but I absolute hate Lorde.

She both wants to mock the main popstars but also be a main popstar. This contradiction renders basically all of her art null as far as I'm concerned

same with me for Royals. loved it on first listen, but heard it way too much and got into the other tracks on the first EP/album more and then just kind of... bored of her, i guess. not sure if my fault or hers, or everyone else that overplayed her stuff.

I did not, sorry! Mostly cuz I found wrapping my head around a whole decade—especially this one, where I was p deeply engaged with a variety of contemporary music across the whole decade—too daunting. Given some other recent polls I also think "my" ilm constituency has shrunk to negligibility. I know, I know: not voting makes that self-fulfilling, but I prefer to feel less invested and greet each entry with "o i c" rather than making an ass out of myself freaking out about ILM's taste horizons

tbf it's not really "ILM's taste," it's more a quirk of how these polls work and where consensus happens
