76. Migos ft. Lil Uzi Vert - Bad and Boujee (2016)

but where is "t-shirt"?

comedy khadafi (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:08 (one year ago) link

my migos vote went to "versace," which was probably my first exposure to them and still their best work imo.

"bad and boujee" is great, though. uzi's verse was my least favorite part at the time, but moments from in his 16 still pop into my head from time to time ("met! her! today!")

hasn't aged super well imo

comedy khadafi (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:23 (one year ago) link

My biggest problem with the song is its actual lack of bass.

MarkoP, Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:25 (one year ago) link

The first half of "Pyramids" is OK; the second half is massive

Bait Kush (Eric H.), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:26 (one year ago) link

Never knew why Super Bass was the breakout hit, or why it was so high in the 2011 poll, or why people are voting for it now, she has so many better songs and it shows off almost none of her talents. Guess it's not unpleasant, just that's kind of it.

link.exposing.politically (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:27 (one year ago) link

They played this one at the gym I went to almost every day and I have to admit it was a fun song to run to - the first times at least.

Agree that it hasn't really aged well and yeah there's way too much high end on it, where's the super bass!?

Shocked to see this one so low but, yeah, perhaps the glow has worn off.

loved this track

Malevolent Arugula (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:34 (one year ago) link

I completely forgot about Amel Larrieux and this album is actually really good. Thanks ILM for reminding me about her and this song. Should've voted for this one.

✖✖✖ (Moka), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:34 (one year ago) link

Brilliant song I somehow didn't vote for.

Will (kruezer2), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:35 (one year ago) link

This is great, was on a longlist for a bit. Moment To Reflect (not nominated) even better

from 2016's best album

Malevolent Arugula (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:44 (one year ago) link

I kept my WAK votes for the album, would have been Love Song if forced to choose, but it is all Absolutely Great

ban, buddy (imago), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:46 (one year ago) link

This songs defines "shimmer."

Malevolent Arugula (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:46 (one year ago) link

voted for this one. song is like a plush, weighted blanket in audio form

comedy khadafi (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:49 (one year ago) link

Christ, it absolutely FLIES by as well. You're ready for another four minutes and it ends

comedy khadafi (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 15:59 (one year ago) link

This is the best of the 1989 singles and was on my long list i think, but i hope the Red singles do better.

i really like the Games ep and trying to correctly guess all the obscure flags off the front cover

strawberry skies probs the best tune but flowers in bloom a personal fav

nxd, Tuesday, 16 August 2022 16:06 (one year ago) link

Great to see Amel Larrieux here. Another one I didn't know about until it showed up in our poll. The whole album is so good.

I didn't vote for any KING tracks in the end, just the album. Hey or Native Land would have been my picks if I'd had room. Excited to see how the album does next week.

kitchen person, Tuesday, 16 August 2022 16:07 (one year ago) link

Incapable feels very much like a 2020's song to me just because of how many times I've listened to Róisín Machine.

I wonder what ufo meant by the poll results at various points during voting being liable to annoy virtually everyone. How much Taytay lurks in 102-140

ban, buddy (imago), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 16:18 (one year ago) link

all too well probs the best Red cut tbh

nxd, Tuesday, 16 August 2022 16:20 (one year ago) link

apols to all trouble stans

nxd, Tuesday, 16 August 2022 16:20 (one year ago) link

is this all versions rolled into one?

big movers, hot steppers + long shaker intros (breastcrawl), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 16:21 (one year ago) link

technically speaking this is only the 2012 version. The taylor version and the 10 min version is 2021.

that said in 2012 the taylor stans apparently didn't think much of it back then as it scored really low in that poll.

✖✖✖ (Moka), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 16:23 (one year ago) link

oh no, can’t have a 2020s version weigh into the vote, can we now

I love this song and I voted for it, but I did not expect it to place as I was under the impression that ILM tends to prefer the stuff from their second album.

MarkoP, Tuesday, 16 August 2022 16:28 (one year ago) link

I nominated "All Too Well" but didn't have room for it on my ballot, glad others took up the slack

Bee OK, Tuesday, 16 August 2022 16:30 (one year ago) link

I adore "Hey" but that better not be the only WAK song to place here.

Bait Kush (Eric H.), Tuesday, 16 August 2022 16:30 (one year ago) link

The Mother We Share is a great single, but it frustrated me how patchy their albums were. Screen Violence is the first time they got it right.

kitchen person, Tuesday, 16 August 2022 16:32 (one year ago) link

The only CHVRCHES song I love from the 10s. (Already a few more I love from the 20s tho)
