ILM's Top 100 Tracks of the 2010s

The Oranssi Pazuzu song made my ballot - v impressive psych odyssey. Voted for a different Selena Gomez track that I hope will place much higher.

Very cute dog in the Feel You video, hadn't seen that before.

Only 13/50 of the tracks I voted are from the second half of the decade. But I'm not the most representative of the ILM hivemind, especially on the track side of things. Albums, it's more evenly split amongst the two halves.

"Feel You" is great but one reason why I didn't submit a tracks ballot is so I wouldn't have to do the impossible and select just one track from an album like "Have You in My Wilderness".

I always go on about how I only really love Tragedy out of the Holter albums, but 'Feel You' is v much hitting the spot for me today.

Not that I can't look them up on my own, but just wanted to point out that these haven't updated for me on the Spotify playlist since New Rules. Is that the case for everyone?

In a bit of a weird emotional state today (basically money worries, nothing profound) and probably listening to 'Feel You' and 'Glue' in succession hasn't really helped, astounding pieces of music as they both are.

The comments on the Glue video are quite the rabbit hole too.

my half-decade splits were 21/29 for tracks and 16/34 for albums, so quite heavy on the second half

If you only listen to one song from the record, though, "Feel You" is a fine choice.

I spent a lot of time with the various Holter nominations but apparently needed that video, just now, to grasp that it should have been on my ballot. Dogs clarify everything.

here's a song that is probably in my top 200 or so songs of the decade but cuts have to be made somewhere.

the initial run of haim singles was incredible and this was the best of them

fwiw i don't think there's a noticeable recency bias in the results but i haven't done the maths there or anything yet

this song feels like a "blast from the past" already, time is so fast

"your best american girl" has a great melody, and i probably appreciate the song more now that the "teenage dirtbag" associations have faded from my brain lol. if i voted for anything from that album, it probably would've been the ferocious "crushed little stars."

crazy how mitski has legions of young fans who've probably never even heard "ybag" before.

also forgot how much i liked "feel you" so thanks for the reminder, Voters

"never even heard" is probably an exaggeration, but 2016 me would've been shocked to hear that "i bet on losing dogs" has nearly twice as many streams

this was my number one back in 2017. still stunning imo

I stopped listening to HAIM after the first few singles. I really liked them, but played them out and then never jumped back in when the album was released. Listening back now, I really like it, although my favorite was probably Forever. That one might have made my ballot, but it's just been so long since I've thought about them.

Uptown Funk didn't make my ballot, but I can see why people voted for it. Hopefully, its placement is a sign that The Fox (What Does the Fox Say) or Gangnam Style will show up further down the line.

'couple sings together about how death will them part' could have felt a bit indulgent, but this doesn't

"uptown funk" and th whole nu-school bruno has always felt fairly unnecessary to me. i can go and listen to the gap band right now if i wanted to, why should i have to repeatedly hear a wedding band-style composite of the five best gap band songs?

i also felt that way about amy winehouse vis-a-vis the music that inspired her, but at least with amy there was a world class vocal performance.
