I thought albums would be my easy ballot, but I scrolled through the big list last night and just gave up. I'm glad the voting period is so lengthy, because I'm going to need it. I haven't even looked at tracks yet.

Interesting that there's some tracks missing from the noms which made it into our top 10s in the past.

Will be interesting to see in the final results if we end up with tracks which didn't appear at all in the top 77 of their respective years.

hello ufo, many thanks for the time and energy you have put into this. i voted just now but had to add in my #2 album which although nominated does not appear on the spreadsheet. i hope this does not cause you any problems and the album in question is unlikely to trouble the top 200 so it's not a big deal.

I voted. What a ridiculous endeavor this was. It was a fun exercise to spend time listening to a bunch of stuff I put on my year end lists throughout the decade.

I'm trying to get through the Spotify playlist, even with skips it's going to be a close thing.

Culled my singles ballot (which is to say, my sole ballot) down to 70 titles.

write-ins are fine and i will add anything nominated missing to the nominations list if you let me know that i missed it

Got my tracks ballot worked out but still have albums yet to go. I think that one is gonna be a bit harder

Dull realisation: I've been an album kinda person for the last 25 years, to the point where I often struggle to put a tracks ballot together; this poll has made me realise I've gone back to my teen self, ie much more tracks focused. Fascinating, I know.

I just voted! Like Chinaski, I am mostly an album listener but albums WAS hard to get to 50, because there's only about 40 I love and know well and maybe another 100 I liked but don't remember too well. Thought about doing some major relistening or even just capping it at those 40, but in the end, I went with my vague memories to pick the final 10. Tracks was easier because they're all songs I know well. Overall, I'm satisfied with my ballot

I'm down to 63 albums and 73 tracks. I was determined to vote by the end of today but it doesn't seem likely.

I'm tempted to be more strict when it comes to overlaps in my two lists, but I just can't bring myself to cut some of my favourite artists. I don't know how people manage to do that.

I usually hate sending in unweighted ballots but after trying to rank my tracks ballot, I had to come to terms with the fact that there was no single song that was clearly my favorite of the entire decade. Any given decade I could probably make a case for at least half the songs on my list.

I did weight my albums ballot. I think there are 2 albums in my top ten that will appear on a lot of other folks' ballots, but I wouldn't be surprised if I was alone, or nearly alone, in the other 8.

btw, just noticed that DJ Lycox - Parabéns Moh Baba, which only has a Bandcamp link on the spreadsheet, is on Spotify as "Parabens Mo Baba"

Voted! I know I'm going to have some regrets later on, but for now it feels good to have it done.

XP: arggh, the disappearance from Spotify of seemingly *everything* Príncipe was likely a regional thing too then. Worst region ever, etc, etc.

when tt and i ran the 00's, tt did the images but i did all the bbcode, text, blurb etc stuff, ufo is shirking imo lol

tbf i got around this by not doing blurbs, and demanding the thread's live reactions to suffice

Moka, you're not doing the bbcode by hand I hope? If you have everything in a spreadsheet, any decent text editor can generate the right tags for you.
