I think I’ve played it approx 20 times today and I’ve finished each listen completely breathless - it’s too soon to call it her best track, but it definitely feels like her biggest.

also the new album is coming Q1 2023 which I am guessing is because of vinyl production delays (on BBC Radio 1 yesterday she said the record was done)

excited for this! was a latecomer to what's your pleasure, but it keeps on keeps on giving.

i haven't loved any of the remixes, but the og "free yourself" is an absolute beauty. i was hooked as soon as the piano kicked it off, which brought immediately to mind the opening countrypolitan piano from "9 to 5." then whooooosh! what a jam.

yeah, "free yourself" is a jam. agree on the remixes. the woolford one is a snooze. sorry to do "hi i dj" anecdotes, but i played it a lot this summer to mixed, overall tepid reactions, then brought it back out a few weeks ago and everyone seemed to know & love it. probably just the right people at the right time.

there's such an immense storm of orchestra and blown out gospel house underlying "free yourself". i used to kind of ? at the breakdown but now i love its impressionistic meltdown feel.

yeah on the breakdown it's like another tune snuck in the back and took over the stage for a bit, but it works.

there's a 1 minute snippet of "pearls" doing the rounds and it sounds absolutely wonderful. can't wait for this record

It’s not really my style and I was more into the less flashy style of WYP? but it’s good.

I loved the clip yesterday but I’m not really connecting w the full song for whatever reason

it's good but i don't quite expect the album to live up to what's your pleasure, seems to be going for a bolder, brighter sound

I saw someone on reddit I think describe it as What’s Your Pleasure? with glitter which sort of makes sense to me.
