I downloaded a dodgy dance comp over the weekend so this thread is going to be bumped quite badly over the next couple of days. I apologise in advance. Also:

Rollin' and flying
Love don't let me go
You got me drownin' in a river
Cold and in fever
Love don't let me go

one month passes...

I am sitting in a room different from the one you are in now. I am recording the sound of my speaking voice and I am going to play it back into the room again and again until the resonant frequencies of the room reinforce themselves so that any semblance of my speech with perhaps the exception of rhythm, is destroyed. What you will hear, then, are the natural resonant frequencies of the room articulated by speech. I regard this activity not so much as a demonstration of a physical fact, but more as a way to smooth out any irregularities my speech might have.

kv_nol, Friday, 14 September 2007 11:30 (eighteen years ago)

I dunno, never heard it although it rang bells with me too. There's a link to some download on that wiki page, it sounds interesting enough to have a listen.

mehlt, Saturday, 16 February 2008 07:15 (eighteen years ago)

I mean to say like a good portion of it, not that I like it a lot!

I think a number of people around here would call it a classic, especially those contributing to this thread!

Doctor Casino, Sunday, 17 February 2008 05:09 (eighteen years ago)

Ok, good. I wasn't sure if it's viable for guilty pleasure material or just guilty material. I saw it used in a film like a month and a half ago and it's been invading my mind ever since.

oh, and also:

DUN, DUN DUN DUN, DUN, Hey (city), jump on it, jump on it, jump on it.

Maybe it's just that amazing environ 13th anniversary party flyer, but this thread is really making me feel like DJ'ing at a Bar Mitzvah party.

I know, right?, Thursday, 28 August 2008 00:22 (seventeen years ago)

Rhythm is both the song's manacle and its demonic charge.
It is the original breath.
It is the whisper of unremitting demand.
"What do you still want of me?" says the singer.
"What do you think you can still draw from my lips?"
Exact presence that no fantasy can represent,
purveyor of the oldest secret, alive with the blood that boils again and is pulsing where the rhythm is torn apart.
How your singer's blood is incensed at the depth of sound.
Lacerations echo in the mouth's open, erotic sky
where dance together the lost frenzies of rhythm and an imploring immobility.

Ladies and gentlemen: Miss Grace Jones.
Jones the rhythm.

Tuomas, Thursday, 28 August 2008 17:46 (seventeen years ago)

This is the one you been waiting for,
Da Baron MC hitting once more
with the comeback dope lyrics on the hype track,
when you don't play the back of the wax.
Bass for your face,
and the hihats make's it super bad.
On the floor we got the party going
on and on and on to the break of dawn
over and over again,
we'll be the ones to make you dance
Bust a move go crazy to this
this is the one you just can't miss
Feel the bassline heavy pumping
watch the party jumping.
But for now you just can't stop
Yo DJ, turn da music up.
