thrilled to see Abigor's Nachthymnen got reissued this year apparently, back in June.

Attila sings a la how he does on "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" on the opening track of the new Mayhem, it's kind of LOL.

It's a solid little EP, packed with all punk rawk covers in the second half (Discharge, Dead Kennedys, Rudimentary Peni, Ramones), but I don't think I'll be revisiting it very often.

I was gonna order the Mayhem EP that just was released but for some reason Century media is asking $18 for a seven-song EP with only one new song and four punk covers that combined take up less than eight minutes. So fuck that.

The song definitely has a Dio-ish feel. I've hated AWK for 20 years but all three videos from this album have been freakish and fascinating, and honestly I'm kinda curious about the whole thing in a way I have never been about any of his previous work. He's going for a very explicit cosmic-horror/cult-initiation vibe here that reminds me of movies like Beyond the Black Rainbow and Devil's Candy, and I'm into it.

This Ghastly album is hitting the spot. Organic-sounding psychedelic death metal that flows really nicely on the strength of the riffs.
