2nd lp by Liverpool psych heads.
I think the sound had expanded a bit from the first. Nice droney drifting rock.
I know the guitars were influential on Savage Republic among others but the rest of the instrumentation is as eclectically played.
Has been interesting to read about what had influenced the band members in their playing.
Lyricism is pretty base in places. But I think it fits together well.
I wish I'd picked this up closer to teh time but I think the only thing by them i had was Porcupine. & it was the early to mid 90s when i was getting into this. So this is the 2nd cd of it I have.
Happened to be in a pile of cds I had hidden behind the table I use as my worktable. & i had noticed when i was rebuilding a shelf unit that sits behind it. So possibly not listened to this since i was ripping things for my ATRAC walkman a few years back.

first lp by singer songwriter on John Peel's Dandelion label. Sounds like a folky Nico backed with an acoustic guitar taht manages to fill out the sound remarkably well.,
Bridget St John, I've been meaning to pick up the rest of the Dandelion material for a while. Hope its not too late.
As i said I'm surprised y how full a sound there is from just her voice and acoustic guitar, you'd think there was more in this. I think the guitar is played by her and fingerpicked in a way that really is quite amazing. Not sure how much of that is production. Not sure what live material by her is circulating but I do know there are Peel sessions which wouldn't have had much time spent on production.
Want some more. Her next lp is supposed to be the classic.

MIx of Spiritual jazz and funky jazzoetry and things.
This had a companion book with some great photos of the players involved.
It features the Last poets track It's A Trip which I used as a theme tune on my radio show in the mid 90s though that was from a 2fer cd of the lp its from and one from a similar vintage. On that they're backed by a full band featuring Bernard Purdie.
Do like Soul Jazz's compilation lps . Seem to hang together pretty well.

I'm sure I was probably into at the time but I can't recall a single song off of it. Surely it's not their best work?

MASSIVE. I should work on reviving the reggae thread huh.

Is it too big? I wasn't searching for the "biggest" image per se.

Nah the thread regulates sizes now right?

Yeah actually I was thinking of the Marcus Garvey/Garvey's Ghost 2XLP anyway. I'll just show myself out.
