I swear there was a commercial in the early 90s that was an extreme ripoff of C+C Music Factory with the “everybody dance now” replaced by the words “condition by clairol”.

Anyway I have that commercial stuck in my head it with “pacifico clara” instead

And I’m lovin’ every minute of it

When I see it I have to sing (internally, I'm not a monster) "Ohhh asia-a-go, obá obá obá" (Sergio Mendes & Brazil 66 "Mas Que Nada," and I had to google the lyrics to get the obá obá obá.)

It started with Holloway Road, which of course is v close to "Holiday Road", but now my brain has been doing this for every sign with "road" on it in London, no matter how tortured the meter. Halp!

Daniel_Rf, Tuesday, 21 September 2021 10:01 (four years ago)

I used to walk by Harriet Street in Pittsburgh all the time in the early 90s, and it seemed like it should be the hook of some wet indie song, perhaps obliquely about getting your 7" put out by Harriet Records, "I want to live on Harriet Street". There's also Sarah Street in another part of town, but that didn't inspire the same jangly guitar sounds in my head.
