Srsly, I've been just playing "Flex" overandoverandoverandoverandover cuz it's got everything I love:

--that static rhythm-track of someone breathing which reminds me of the bedsprings in Trillville's "Some Cut"
--that one measure of beat that has a totally different swing and cadence to it, and clashes against the beat like Just-Ice's "Cold Getting Dumb"
--those squinchy Brooklyn distorto Casio noises that are total Black Dice or Gang Gang Dance or Mincemeat Or TenSpeed.

Just funky and weird and noisy all at once.

New Roots Manuva record getting lots of repeat play over here. Glad he found something cool and unique and fun to do esp. since grime, dubstep and Mike Skinner aren't doing so hot in the states. This record deserves more shine.
