idk the acoustic christmas ep had me wondering, is all

i didn't really expect that to be representative of anything in the same way that i wasn't expecting the impressively bad noise EP she put out last year to be either

as with most of i disagree this feels like it was born right out of my brain

its really nice to have someone making heavy music calibrated to exactly what i want from it

but yeah the last album was very good and this is too! she's really upped her game a lot! i am amused that she is opting for a St Vincent look here.

Huh. I don't mind what I've heard from Poppy at all but this performance is kind of a sweet/sour-spot blend of "I'm enjoying this" and "This is calibrated to sound like the guitar is a mosquito tied down to a splinter and shoved into my ear."

i despise poppy and have from the second i encountered her a few years ago. just had to register that i guess.

her early stuff was pretty terrible and the turnaround has really been something

Poppy's one of those contempo artists where everything's about streaming, so it's SO FUCKING HARD to work out how to buy her music, especially in FLAC.
I'd love the EPs on CD, but that ain't gonna happen (blessed that I got I Disagree on CD though!)

i was just about to point you there, 7digital/zdigital etc. is about the only reliable place for FLACs or even mp3s apart from bandcamp for artists who use it these days, now that google play music is dead

This EP is really the best? I didn't really get her earlier stuff because they all sounded like two or three unrelated songs mashed together, but this is brilliant from start to finish.

the only previous track that i'd say really felt like a bunch of different songs mashed together was "concrete" but it did so in a really fun way that worked
