I missed that the album actually came out a month ago, didn't see a word about it anywhere. Is that because people aren't feeling it or just this modern world?

I think its just this modern world. It got plenty of good reviews and even a Best New Music from whatever is left of Pitchfork.

I’ve never found the Shakes interesting at all but this new album of hers is great. Lots of Prince vibes, a little jazz, and the last track is giving late-era Radiohead.
