i am an absolute dumbass for sleeping on this album. nothing deliberate, just was waiting for the right mood to take me. that said i thought the alternate version of fire-mare, which i heard via the longlist, was amazing!

Jokes about melts aside, this is good imo. I think I tried the album a little and didn't get into it, but it's working for me now.

This would have probably been the Kelley Lee Owens track I voted for, but I just voted for the album instead.

Ignore the Radiohead cover that kicks off the album, it's not bad or anything, but the rest is amazing

I like both Kelly Lee Owens' albums, but I'm yet to really fall for them properly. I can't put my finger on why they don't fully connect with me.

I voted for Island over any individual Owen Pallett tracks. Happy to see A Bloody Morning make it as it's definitely one of my favourites on the album. Looking forward to that getting a good position on here next week.

If you had told me I would warm over time to a funkless disco track, I would’ve been dubious but “Lick”’s blip blop innocence and Lanza’s childlike warmth got under my skin. YMMV but I found it an endearing post-chillwave little sister to The Jets’ “Crush on You”.

Saved the J Hus and Koffee track from the noms playlist. I liked the little 'blessings' echo of 'Toast' that surfaces at some point.

I much preferred Waxahatchee in the raw bedroom pop of Cerulean Salt than this slightly watery alt-country, but it's fine.

Owen Pallett totally killed with this whole album - definitely a stand-out track but I voted for a different one (hopefully still to place?).

I placed Jessy's album ahead of all the more straight ahead disco stuff from 2020. Cuz I couldn't go dancing? who can say.

I can’t quite get Jessy Lanza but Lick in Heaven is the closest I’ve gotten to liking her music.

I meant to spend more time with this album in 2020, because I was really looking forward to it coming out, but it just fell by the wayside. I guess I'll do it this year.
