sleeve: what liner notes were you looking for 2 weeks ago? MTPITD doesn't have any? (my original CD has the track titles + A Chalice Recording / Graal CD002 on the back (the word Red in red, twice), then a multicolored ring on the inner artwork with john balance, thighpaulsandra, peter christopherson, drew mcdowall around it, and that's it for notes)

xps StanM it's extremely frustrating, but they did write liner notes talking about the MTPITD songs specifically, and they used to be online. They were not included in the actual release.

Can you remember what website they were on? maybe check archive.org?

90% sure they used to be on the damn Brainwashed site! SO frustrating, I remember they described "Red Birds" as "99% Thighpaulsandra" for example. Just a paragraph or two about each song.

wiki says she did a TV commercial for the Bristol & West Building Society that he worked on, presumably that's the connection.

I'd guess he would have had interactions with the artists Hipgnosis worked with too? Don't know if there's any pics of him with UFO or the Scorpions or whoever though.

My understanding is that MTPITD and Ape Of Naples are the fans' favourite albums but what would be the top tracks if there was a poll? I'm guessing Tainted Love would be up there.

I think Broccoli would be my fave.

the book is really quite amazing, but it's a bit frustrating that all the magazine articles reproduced are almost all at least partially obscured, I'm guessing to avoid copyright issues

the full page color artwork stuff is just fabulous, and some of the correspondence is too (Cosey getting pissed about the Assume Power Focus boot LP)

arguably none of the reissues are authorised. i think the infinite fog one is one step away from being a bootleg.

It's a little um, unclear what "commissioned artwork by Steven Stapleton" means. I mean.. it was originally wasn't it?

This is all probably upthread somewhere, but did neither of them have any relatives or anything? Surely the assets of an estate would revert to the next of kin under the rules of intestacy, or failing that the Treasury (which would mean the Crown could legally reissue Coil LPs, lol).

Yes, there are relatives but it is ultra complicated and it seems nobody is able to agree on anything so it all sits perennially in limbo.

consensus feeling that wax trax reissue will be better than the infinite fog one? didn't see any mastering details and infinite fog's bandcamp page is almost impossible to read with dark text on a dark background.

I ordered the Infinite Fog one before I saw the Wax Trax reissue announcement so I hope the Infinite Fog one is legit in the sense that it, uh, arrives

Really into S&CS for a few months now. The alternate versions of "Futhur" and "Love's Secret Domain" blow me away every time. Could anyone recommend other stuff in this vein, not necessarily Coil-related?
